Anderson out 4-6 Weeks with severe cut to hand

Post by Hockey Widow »

"After a freakish injury in his house preparing a meal, Craig Anderson cut his hand and was immediately taken to the hospital for care. The team is reporting that the veteran goaltender is out indefinitely, and there appears to be a four to six week timetable on his recovery."

Ottawa's chances of making the playoffs have just imploded. Think they may want a goalie?

Wow that sucks for the Sens. They have time to maybe acquire a better temporary solution in net though. I was really rooting for the Sens to finish closing that gap on the Bruins.

Lots of cheap solutions out there as a short term replacement.

Anderson trying to outdo Salo?

Ouch for Ottawa.

That is some seriously shitty news as Anderson had been playing lights out as of late.

I think the Sens are going to fine with Karlsson absolutely killing it and Spezza having a phenomenal season.

Time for baldy Auldy to shine!!

So do you think if Calgary decides to be a seller and they let Kipper go does Ottawa have what I will take to grab him or do they even want him? What about Nabokov now? They ay they were playing they could make some noise but with Anderson gone for so long it may be too late for them unless they go out and get a goalie.

Well,

The obvious question, is if the Canucks could get anything relevant/useful from the Sens in exchange for Corey Schneider.

They may. Auld is 2-3-2 this season with a .883 SV% and a 3.28 GAA. That's quite some downgrade... :?

Not sure if Lehner is ready to step up just yet, but then again, he played pretty well for Binghampton last spring:
Earned 14 of the B-Sens’ 16 post-season wins in goal and was awarded the American Hockey League’s Jack Butterfield Trophy as playoff MVP after helping the B-Sens capture the Calder Cup.
Not as nice AHL stats this year, but the whole team seems to suck. :hmmm:

He has only played one game for Ottawa this winter, a 3-2 win against Toronto on Oct 30th.
Thus he's 1-0-0 with a .903 SV% and a 2.00 GAA. Better than Auld, at least... :P

How about Erik Karlsson? :look:

Will OTT pursue Ben Bishop perhaps? I don't think STL will be interested in picks / prospects. They'll want help for the playoffs.

Good call. The Blues got a 2nd round pick (which I would not be too surprised to see them turn around and shop) and the Senators got to talk to Bishop about an extension.

After having shut out the Bruins last night, Lehner is now 3-0-0 with a .954 svs% and a 1.33 GAA this season.

Who's Anderson? :eh:

Our backup (Jhonas Enroth) started his first few games on a similar tear, but has since shown why he's the backup...give it time.

Give Enroth some time as well.

There's a plethora of Swedish goalies in the NHL these days, eh?
And more on the way.... :?
