He didn't seem to be muzzled too bad IMO.
Hard to say.
He had been taming it down for years on Coach's Corner.
You think so? I think he's just lost his ability to focus and string together a coherent thought. Maybe he's focused on his shtick to the detriment of his analysis?

Haven't listened to him in years, unchained won't change that.
just think of the leaf homerism
I keep listening.
I've mentioned before that he's the "spitting" image of my dear ole dad (RIP).
Same voice, same hardcore attitude, same brand of philosophy and telling it like it is.
So there's that.
One thing I've noticed is that he has been more and more critical of the Leaves despite their success.
He's been vocal about his disdain for their wimpiness and snotnosedkiddiness.
(he loves the hell outta Mr Anderssen though)
When they traded Kadri (that Muslim player with whom he once "traded spit") he really turned on them.
Predictably Leafers have turned on him in droves due to dat dere.
Well this explains a lot.
But hey, you’re vast skills in digging up sources makes me wonder. I am sure I remember reading somewhere when Rogers acquired canadian NHL broadcast rights and control of HNIC went over to sportsnet there was a story about how the clock was ticking for uncorporate Don, the dinosaur who didn’t fit managements framework.
The new bland NHL, the one with no big personalities interrupting the cash flow to blind trust funds in the caymans...
Perhaps this was not a knee jerk reaction by cowards but the plan all along. Just waiting for the chance to get rid of Don to make the corporate takeover of the old pre Bettman NHL
Don Cherry says Sportsnet made it 'impossible' for him to clarify his Coach's Corner comments
Don Cherry had his first podcast tonight.
I did not know that.

While we are on the subject of the sterilization of our national pastime. The hilights produced by sportsnet are horrendous. Just isolated clips of the games goals. No drama, no explanation of intrigue in each game, no fights no penalties - nothing but endless goals with no connection to each other.

We have been robbed
You are right, it is pathetic. There is also Toronto bias on a grandiose scale. The goals shown have no lead-up. The hosts talk too much.
They think they are comedians. They think they are witty. They aren't.
The YouTubes produced are completely stripped of any violence.
