WARMINGTON: Don Cherry comes back with a new show
They may have knocked Don Cherry to the ice with a hit he didn’t see coming.
Now watch him get back up.
You people out there who want the 85-year-old Cherry back, here’s the news you have been hoping for. You people who wanted him to fade away are out of luck as the former NHL coach of the year is going to be able to exercise his free speech, after all.
Don Cherry’s Grapevine is back once again. This time as a podcast.
You read it right: Don Cherry and his no-holds-barred views are coming back on the air.
One thing for sure about the new show is MacLean will not be in his foxhole.
Turns out Grapes has a new co-host. And perhaps hosts.
“My son, Tim, is going to do it with me and my grandson Del,” said Grapes.
At least he knows they won’t turn on him when the waters get rough as MacLean did.

Audio show at first but would be a welcome addition to my regular YouTube fare if it had a video format. Something like the Joe Rogan experience but classier, think of the guests he could have...Strangelove wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 5:57 pm https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/ ... a-new-show

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"
Just read on twitter that Cherry's first podcast of 'Grapevine' drops next Monday, and every Monday.
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

It will be interesting because there will be absolutely no restrictions on what he says now.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 7:53 am Just read on twitter that Cherry's first podcast of 'Grapevine' drops next Monday, and every Monday.

Yeah. I hope he follows the same layout as Chicklets.. He will need guests and stuff to keep it entertaining.. 30 minutes of 'straight grapes' would be a little much

I'm thinking it will end u being pretty close to coaches corner and a fairly anticlimactic start. He didn't seem to be muzzled too bad IMO.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"
Hard to say.
He had been taming it down for years on Coach's Corner.
How much of that was due to pressure from the boss?
(vs how much due to Donny adapting to the changing times)
We're about to find out.

Re: Vancouver's Hockey "Media"
I keep listening.
I've mentioned before that he's the "spitting" image of my dear ole dad (RIP).
Same voice, same hardcore attitude, same brand of philosophy and telling it like it is.
So there's that.
One thing I've noticed is that he has been more and more critical of the Leaves despite their success.
He's been vocal about his disdain for their wimpiness and snotnosedkiddiness.
(he loves the hell outta Mr Anderssen though)
When they traded Kadri (that Muslim player with whom he once "traded spit") he really turned on them.
Predictably Leafers have turned on him in droves due to dat dere.
