Ya Doc I think we went through this before. Only a player with a full NMC needs to be protected. Players with modified NMC don’t need protection. So you are right, we’d need to know the full details of Brodie’s NMC.

Unprecedented territory for the league head honchos to digest. It's the fans. Nothing they can do.

We will never war with Seattle. No-way.

I've only heard of one player where it was otherwise (can't remember who it was).
Was it Tyler Myers? Capfriendly has an NMC, but the media coverage at the time said it was modified for the expansion draft:
Myers also has a no-move clause in the first year of the deal, a full no-trade clause over the next two years, then a limited no-trade clause that allows a 10-team list for the remaining two years
No, CapFriendly lists Myers as having a NMC this year and next year not.

(if you click on his name over there, it shows the NMC is only for the first year)

I'm thinking of a player in the Vegas X-draft, CF had him as having a NTC only

... but it turned out he didn't require protection.

It's frustrating that they don't give us ALL the X-draft rules/info and where each player stands.

I hope you are correct. Brodie is a free agent at the end of this season - it's Gio that I'm worried about. If they are able to protect 3 of the 4 young d-men they have, I'll be happy.

I don't know if the Flames are going to try and re-sign Brodie. He'd be a good pickup for some team.

Brodie is a good top 4 d man. I doubt the Flames can bring back both he and Hamonic. Maybe they let both go. Rasmus Anderson looks like he will be able to slide into the top 4 seamlessly.

When I look at the Canucks against the Flames I see pretty equal forward groups. Canucks may have a bit more offensive pop... Flames more grit. The Flames have a better D but Markstrom is a better goalie than Little Save Dave. The Coilers are in the mix as well if they get the goaltending. It would be nice to see all four Western Canadian teams in the playoffs this year. California can suck it. Vegas too for that matter.

The West is tight this year as Poster Gomer pointed out.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I’m happy we signed Eriksson instead of Lucic right now.

He’s still owed 13 million in real cash. He’s not retiring.

The skinny is the Lames are talking trades this summer for Gaudreau. Pretty sure this is the kids last year in cowgrease.

Its funny that they'll have to do that because of the Lucic boat anchor. Gotta love your rivals failings.

Theyre using him now as a post to use as a pick...like the net. He just stands there waving at pucks and wading into scrums after whistles

Gaudreau isn’t playing enthused hockey at all. Something is up. He loves his home area, I believe it’s Philly. If I’m Calgary explore s trade with New Jersey or the Flyers. If the season is a failure a trade will happen for him I believe. Both jersey and Philly have the parts to make the trade. In fact a lot of those east coast teams have the parts - Barzal for Gaudreau? Philly has a ton of parts - Frost, Farabee etc., Patrick and Myers?
