Burrows being questioned by Montreal polic
According to this news bit... http://www.hockey30.com/magazine/burrows-sous-enquete/
For those who do not speak French, the gist of it is this. With about 2 minutes remaining in a ball hockey game, the goalie froze the ball. Burrows tapped at the goalie's hand 3 times attempting to knock the ball loose. The goalie hit Burrows back, to which Burrows gave him a vicious crosscheck, knocking out the 2 front teeth of the goalie. Burrows immediately left the arena after the incident. Police and an ambulance were called to the scene. The victim, Koray Celik is accusing Burrows of assault causing bodily harm.

Sounds like the guy gave Burrows a shot after the whistle, but it's BALL hockey, how do you lose your cool doing that?
I like Burrows. Don't really care about some guy losing some teeth, and unless the shot was unusually vicious, man up and don't go to the cops if you started it. Tapping his glove is not provocation.

Probably just some guy trying to take Burrows down just because of who he is. Quite frankly it's sad.the toucan kid wrote: I like Burrows. TSN is reporting this now, but they say it happened on the ice. I was wrong about the incident happening at a ball hockey game. I assumed it was a ball hockey game as it well known that Burrows plays in the ball hockey league in Montreal.

Whether its ball-hockey or ice hockey its irrelevent....its not the NHL so no one should be taking it quite *that* serious.
That said, if Burrows did dig at the goalies glove 3 times while it was covered he deserved a whack....gee it wouldn't be like Burrows to stir the pot would it? Crosschecking a goalie's face hard enough to knock teeth out is way over the line imo...this should just be something Burrows is doing to keep in shape during the off-season...taking it that serious is ludicrous.
This is just stupidity, doesn't reflect well on Burrows imo.

Must have been quite the shot to boot. To knock 2 teeth out while the goalie is wearing a helmet has to be pretty hard.ClamRussel wrote:Crosschecking a goalie's face hard enough to knock teeth out is way over the line imo....

I play goal, and I can't see a masked goalie losing teeth. Perhaps the goalie took his mask off to challenge Burrows? Who knows? I just find it hard to believe a cross check could shove a proper fitting mask back that far.

Isn't this the reason why NHL teams carry goons/tough guys, you see what pests can do when there's no repercussions

How can you cross check someone hard enough to knock two teeth out when he's wearing a proper goalie mask? It sounds like baloney to me.
Wonder if he goalie is lucky to be alive?Cornuck wrote:Steve Moore's playing goal in a ball hockey league now?

Right guys, Burrows is the victim here.Ridleyfan wrote:I play goal, and I can't see a masked goalie losing teeth. Perhaps the goalie took his mask off to challenge Burrows? Who knows? I just find it hard to believe a cross check could shove a proper fitting mask back that far.
I've always been a huge Burrows fan but I can't take his side on this one. It was ball hockey not ice hockey so perhaps the goalie had a "ball hockey" mask on? You don't exactly need the same protection as from a frozen puck...and no, crosschecks to the face aren't part of the game.

If he's prosecuted and found guilty will it have any effect on crossing the border. US Immigration don't like felons as I understand
