Hey! Only I'm allowed to comment on players based on their video game production!Badfish wrote:Just picked him up in my video game, and he's a stellar faceoff guy if that's worth anything...
As far as Krog is concerned, he's actually listed as a left winger in one of my games. I didn't notice anything special about Krog's face-off ability, but he's got some decent foot speed. Him and Ryan Johnson may not be too bad as a 4th line tandem.
Didn't Krog sign already for a Russian team
"I could have sworn he signed in Russia:
Jason Krog became the man of the game by scoring two more goals, totalling three goals and one assists for the night. Jason Krog became the AHL’s top scorer in both the regular season and the playoffs. In 110 games, he had 63 goals and 83 assists. He has signed with Russian team Severstal Cherepovets for next season. After not making the NHL roster, he will have a second stint in Europe after having played in Austria, Sweden and Switzerland from 2004 to 2006.

cheers
Apparently he had an out in his contract if an NHL team offered a 1-way deal.
Of course this is all speculation at this point... still no confirmation from the Nucks but he's still on our NHL.com roster.

Peter: Just don't forget our deal, Lois. I sit through this and later tonight I get anal. You hear me? No matter how neat I want the house you have to clean it.

Hardly Fred, I think you added up the wrong columns. In 110 games he had 49 goals.Fred wrote:Jason Krog became the AHL’s top scorer in both the regular season and the playoffs. In 110 games, he had 63 goals and 83 assists.

I did hear he was the AHL mvp for BOTH the regular season & playoffs.

If his "out" from the Russian contract was only for a one-contract then that makes sense now otherwise its ludicrous for a 32 yr old career minor leaguer. That said, I don't see why Gillis would be worried about it, the Russians don't seem to respect current legal contracts in the NHL as evidenced by the Radulov signing.

Krog will not not not not not be a regular. I imagine Gillis signed him to be the 13th forward to sit in the press box until our inevitable slew of injuries start hitting us mid November. I guess he feels Grabner/Hansen/Brown aren't as good in a relief role.mattola wrote:apparently its a one year deal for a one way contract? I dont understand that? is he a winger as well?
is a center on the move?
Sedins?
Kesler?
this makes no sense for a one way
we will see.
Plus Krog won the Calder Cup MVP award, so I guess he's got playoff experience/ is clutch.

Krog can play center and both wing positions. He's good on faceoffs and can penalty kill.
He was the regular season MVP and the playoff MVP last year while winning the Calder Cup.
If he doesn't make the team out of camp he's going to Russia.
Not a whole lot of risk to the signing.
