Peter: Just don't forget our deal, Lois. I sit through this and later tonight I get anal. You hear me? No matter how neat I want the house you have to clean it.

There are still options.
Sedin, Sedin, Nolan
Naslund, Demitra, Bertuzzi
Burrows, Kesler, Pyatt
Hordichuk, Johnson, Brown
Pettinger.
Far from Ideal but hey it's better than Mooger's line up. Sorry Mooger but I don't feel Raymond, Wellwood and Grabner belong on the same line at the NHL level just yet and no way Pyatt deserves first line minutes.

I agree that can't be our second line but with what we have NOW, what else is there?HappyCanuck wrote:Sorry Mooger but I don't feel Raymond, Wellwood and Grabner belong on the same line at the NHL level just yet and no way Pyatt deserves first line minutes.
And Pyatt has been put with the Sedins more than anyone else. And again, right now, what else do we have?
Re-arrange my line up any which way and we're still JUST above the minimum.

We still have two months to do make some moves, etc., but I agree....this team flat out sucks right now. I really REALLY hope Gillis has a "plan B" aside from the Sundin thing.levelheaded wrote:What an awful, awful team. Seriously, if we go into the season with that lineup (or even one similar) I'll have a tough time watching this year. $42M payroll on one of the teams that's supposed to be a high roller? For shame.
edit: and I'd take Hedman.
Personally - I think you guys know where I stand on Bertuzzi....so I won't comment on that.
Aside from re-uniting the WCE though, I wouldn't mind Gillis just focusing on increasing depth. Get some better quality 5/6 d-men that can legitimately play top 4 if certain guys get hurt. Add a few more quality 4th line players that can easily play 3rd line. Add 1 or 2 more PK specialists (i.e. someone like Josh Green from a few years back), and a PP specialist (maybe someone similar to Nolan Baumgartner, but a little better).
If the Canucks can't get the superstars (Sundin, etc.), or the "very good" players (i.e. Demitra, etc.), then slightly overpaying for a few 3rd/4th line guys and/or 5th/6th d-man could help us become just a little deeper......and less susceptible to the injury bug like we were last year.
