The Pittsburgh Penguins have signed G Dany Sabourin to a two-year deal worth $1.025 million.

Good luck in Pittsburgh Dany, one year away and you're right back with the Pens. I guess MacIntyre gets the backup role now.

Hopefully Schneider will be signed to take over in Manitoba.

I doubt it'll be Auld, unless he's willing to take the same salary as Sabourin did. I can understand why Sabourin didn't want to sign to play backup behind Luongo, however. In this case, the Canucks should either look for a veteran who's willing to accept the role or a youngster who strives to improve yet is happy to be a backup at this point.

The guy that covers the Blues for hockeybuzz, Andy Strickland, says the Canucks offered Sandford a contract.

Sanford seemed to stand on his head whenever the boys played him. I'd like Nonis to sign him, just so the guys won't have to face him in St. Lou. :P

Well I think Sabby will develop one day into a really strong goalie, we saw some of his strengths breifly in the playoffs... the guy got a taste of what the playoffs are like, and also understands that if he wants any quality ice time he needs to relocate so hes no backing up the best goalie in the league

That's a pity, as i liked Sabby. But it's probably best for his development to get away from the monster shadow cast by Luongo.

Sanford??? Hell, he's good for at least 4-6 points in the standings we would otherwise have lost to the Blues thanks to his play. That bastard has had our number for years.
