Rocket wouldn't be denied, and Hull was firing the puck 100MPH with wood sticks, no composite and no flex. Playing in Gretzky's prime era, you bet.
Re: Legends of the Game - Ranking the best players
...yeah, not sure what modern goalies and modern equipment have to do with it.
99's prime years were '80 through '90 so thats the basis for theory here no?
Who knows what Richard, Hull, Bossy, Bure score playing with him...I mean Jari Kurri scored what, 400 plus goals with him during that era.
Sky's the limit.

Hasek>>Brodeur, ainec, maybe a bit close but.Strangelove wrote: ↑Wed Aug 03, 2022 6:02 pm I'd also drop Harvey for Big Bird (who likely drops Chelios down, as much as I loved Chelly in his prime).
Hasek out for Martin Brodeur.
Sorry Skyo, assholes are like opinions in that every asshole has both.
Hasek makes 70 saves, outduels Brodeur...
1994: Dominik Hasek wins arguably the best goaltending duel in the modern era of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Hasek outduels Martin Brodeur by making 70 saves before Dave Hannan scores 5:43 into the fourth overtime to give the Buffalo Sabres a 1-0 victory against the New Jersey Devils in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at Memorial Auditorium.

Lol. I think any one of Dryden, Brodeur, Roy, Fuhr, Hasek, Parent, Smith, Esposito, Cheevers, and Fluery, would have closed the deal with teams like the Canucks had in 2010 and 2011 in front of them. That's just for starters.
Re: Legends of the Game - Ranking the best players
ALL 70 saves man by Hasek, one of the greatest of all time in the NHL playoffs.
