Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I prefer Burroughs in the lineup myself anyway.

Didn't much care for Bear.

I prefer Bear over Myers.

I get the feeling Tocchetti is gonna take off the hard heeled dress shoe soon and start knocking’ heads with it

For all the semantics between 're-tool' and 'rebuild', what I would ideally like to see is what happened in Tampa Bay between the 2011 and 2013 where they picked in the top-10 twice - including the 1st overall pick, made the playoffs in 2014, and the rest is history from there. They still had the likes of Stamkos, St. Louis and Lecavalier (though the latter two were at the end of their careers), but poor goaltending and defense.

Can Butthead and Old Fart replicate such a result between now and 2025? Maybe. It depends on which key pieces they want to keep a-la Stamkos, Hedman, Killorn, etc.; which ones they want to move ASAP a-la Kubina and Cory Conacher; and which ones they keep until they age-out a-la Lecavalier and St. Louis.

Also depends on who they draft. Tampa managed to mine gold throughout the rounds in those years like Kucherov and Palat. They turned Drouin into Mikhail Sergachev. Koekkoek was a bust, but they made up for it with an extra 1st rounder (courtesy of the Kyle Quincy trade with Detroit) that they used on Vasilevsky.

The situations are far from identical, but not apples and oranges either. Tampa Bay provides an example of how you can turn things around with good asset management, picking high and often, and getting a winning coach. Why do I get the sense we're not going to see a similar result from Old Fart and Butthead? I guess faint hope isn't too much to ask.

BTW, anybody else notice how much older Adam Foote looks like a younger Tim Hunter? I had to do a double-take when I see the bench the other night.

Some good news:

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Andrei Kuzmenko on a two-year extension with an average annual value of $5.5 million.

This is some great news in what has been an extremely dismal season.

12 team no trade list. 2 and 1 million signing bonuses.

According to Dhaliwal Horvat's agent Pat Morris has been in town the past two days but there have been no discussions.

If this is true then it looks like the Canucks have had their minds made up on this for at least a little while now.
