Bieksa isn’t a douche about it, he mainly calls people out for unnecessary comments or obvious stupid narrative twists.
If somehow Petey could harness his ego and give the standard answers when necessary, but recognize the moronic questions and utilize his stare down, he could really hold some of these shit-stains accountable. Now that is leadership.
I applaud the organization for taking away credentials to certain media types that bring so little to the table. I would like to see the media relations try to help management and players to hold the media more accountable, by encouraging beneficial communication while ignoring the tabloid crap
Easier said than done of course.
I never said Juice was a douche. I like that self deprecating style where he calls out the dumb questions. (Is that called ‘question shaming’?)
And to further you post, I don’t think Petey has any more ego than any other youth 20ish dude with a professional skill set, but I agree that they should let him off the leash with the media. Imo, NHL needs more characters in it, and needs more player personalities to come through and less pre planned ‘pucks in deep, stick to our game plan’ answers.
We need AlMo back for handling dumb press questions.
Solkowski - "Alex, the game is tied going into the 3rd. What do the Cancuks need to do to win this one?"
Full on deadpan from Almo - "Well, if we outscore them in the 3rd, I feel pretty confident we can win"
Omg!
That was a classic!
The 'Chain of Command' is the chain I am going to beat you with until you understand I am in charge.

So Canucks have begun negotiations with Bear on a new contract. Expect something so I’d say or he will be a possible trade closer to TDD.

Congrats Vasily, Phil and Nils!
Good luck up in Vancouver!
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that Forwards Vasily Podkolzin, Phillip Di Giuseppe and Nils Åman have been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL).
Megs can probably speak better of this, but I'm sure these guys are up because of their effort, work ethic and sound, responsible games. Definitely more NHL compatible than any of the other prospects right now. Hopefully Tocchet gives them enough rope to showcase themselves for however many games they might get.
