I know this will make me seem like a horrible human, and I hate both teams equally and with a passion. Even more so after the way the Canucks were vilified in 2011. However, I’m glad the flames flamed out and I’m ecstatic marky shit the bed. As soon as he left the Canucks and became a flame, he is the enemy. Also, flamers I’m sure we’re gloating about how they robbed us blind by getting him. Such a superior goalie...blah blah. Then he shits the bed!! Hahahahaha! In my humble opinion, that’s the real marky. I don’t even care if he was nursing an injury...he shit the bed...that’s all that matters to me! Yesterday was a nice day....almost as good as when the leaves lost.

Tough call for the refs either way, and it easily could have gone either way.
At the end of the day the rightful team won IMHO. Both teams had questionable goaltending, but Edmonton had their stars performing and Calgary didn't.
Love how the media rarely mentions Kane.
I'm not a fan of his previous off ice behaviour, but he's bringing it in these playoffs. His physicality has inspired Mcjesus to be a a bit nastier, and his addition to the PP has made it lethal.
Hopefully he realises this might be his last chance and he turns things around off ice.

Karma is a bitch and you never know when she will bite back, so the Flames eliminated the Canucks in 1989 when Otto kicked in the winner in OT in game seven with a minute left in the period. Blame the absent first line for the series loss, not the refs. It will be interesting to see if the Flames resign "Johnny NoShow" (trade mark pending) given his consistent playoff disappearances.

I picked the Flames to come out of this round but didn't expect Markstrom to implode, although he does have that tendency when over played.

What’s did Bieksa say and what was behind the Oilers bench?

Bieksa said it was kicked in and...

Blob Mckenzie wrote: Fri May 27, 2022 7:35 am I’ve often thought they could amend the rule regarding directing/kicking the puck. I think that play last night was a directed puck, not kicked at. The thing is, it was going in and that should have been tossed into the equation by the on ice officials and the war room in TO. There was no way Smith was reaching back to pull that puck out of the net.
Especially considering he was still chicken-winging it thinking the puck was under his arm.....he was clueless.
I don’t want to see a bunch of kicking and lifting of skates out there but a simple redirection, turning of the blade should be allowed.
That's the worst part about that call, currently it is allowed.
Calgary has got some major decisions to make here. To me, I’d trade Gaudreau’s right pre draft and get a conditional 2nd/3rd rounder. I’d move MT because he’s going to cost a ton. I see a 7 million dollar player there who’s going to want closer to 10. Recoup some young assets, use the money saved in cap on the roster.
Yeah. I like that, and can defer to Lever on all things Calgary.

KICKED 8-)
I had not seen that second angle before.....the one from high up on Smith's side of the net. That's the only angle in my mind that is a distinct kicking motion, but there's no questioning that angle when you look at the heel of his skate. All the other angles look like a skating motion. But I stand corrected.
