4 budget free agent forwards that the Vancouver Canucks can target this summer

https://canucksarmy.com/2022/05/13/4-bu ... et-summer/

A couple guys kinda stick out to me and might be good:

1) Curtis Lazer: a RS centre/winger who is a good PK guy. If he's a FO ace, he'd be great on the 4th line and fit an organizational need.

2) Victor Rask: A Swede who has a big body and a bit of a scoring touch in the past, but never lived up to his contract. Might be a good reclamation project and a potential good winger with Petey.

I'm very disappointed in no nicks Todd, especially given the templates provided in this instance.

They have to be Canucks first do they?

Sorry Lever, can't really think of anything right now. Yeah, figure no point wasting time on hypotheticals, unless they actually become our players. Also, some doods here don't seem to like it with some of my nicknames, so I don't really bother unless it's a really good one. *hehe* I thought I had a great one for Jaro Halak (Halakules!) and never even got a chance to use it as he's pretty much done here. :?

My point outweighs yours by a long shot.
Ya know, in my experience, the best part about making the best point in a debate is - you don't have to announce that it's the best point

In your esteemed opinion, if Miller works for 3/4 years as a UFA, what will his cap hit be?

I guess we will know what Miller’s next contract will look like in about 6 to 8 weeks. Might be an interesting prediction poll thread.

I severely doubt he signs for 3 years... I'm guessing he ends up at $8M x 5.

I agree, could be a hair more - $8.5 over 6

That would be a good contract for both. Probably just a slight overpayment in the last 2 years.

If he only gets five years the number per year starts with a 9. Probably 9.5 or 9.6. Unless he has a shitty agent.

What should Miller get next season?
It Rustyford has any sense, hopefully a tough young long-term top four defensive right-handed defensemen, a young third line centre with potential for more, and a late first round pick.

Why? He's been s point a game guy for 3 years, but nothing special before that. He's not worth 9.5 based on past years, and he has peaked. 9.5 is paying him for what he has done, not what he can do going forward. Skinner comes to mind as a comparison of bad scenarios.

Time will tell, Mëds. If he signs here on a retirement deal, I pray to Louis Eriksson' sweaty jock strap that he is worth the deal.
