Why? He's been s point a game guy for 3 years, but nothing special before that. He's not worth 9.5 based on past years, and he has peaked. 9.5 is paying him for what he has done, not what he can do going forward. Skinner comes to mind as a comparison of bad scenarios.

Time will tell, Mëds. If he signs here on a retirement deal, I pray to Louis Eriksson' sweaty jock strap that he is worth the deal.
That jock has no sweat in it. the Air Thief never worked hard enough to get a sweat on.

Chaser would like to return with the Canucks next year according to his agent Pat Morris. I know this is going to be an uncomfortable read for Carl Yagro, sorry about that my friend. :)

Personally, I would be happy to welcome him back for another year. Heck, I might even bump him up to 775K.

LOL, Mega... I don't mind you trying to take the piss outta me, my friend

But I've always maintained... how does Alex Chiasson make this team better? We're on the cusp of our core hitting their prime and either taking the next steps to become playoff contenders or this regime needs to recognize and retool/rebuild as necessary.

If we lose our best player, JT Miller, how does a scrub that needs to be so sheltered improve this team? You going to gift him a top 6 role with prime PP time again? Look at his stats. It barely registers given he got lucky through injuries. Pods took the next steps when given the same opportunity. Who are you going to invest in with a spot?

Chiasson is incapable of playing a regular shift in the bottom six. How does that affect the development of Pods or Hogs. No Miller, but a bunch of slugs like Boeser, Pearson, Chiasson and your #1 center is Petey. That is your offence. That lineup isn't getting better or faster. I hope JR/Baldy can see this is a huge step backwards.

Take that $$$ and spend it on something better on the 4th line. You can't pray that BB is going to continue making chicken salad out of Lamikko, Highmore, Lockwood and whoever fills in from Abby. Speed and grit, something we still sorely lack.

I tend to overplay this whole ChaseOn thing, but logically it makes no sense because this franchise isn't progressing with these types of tweeners. I guarantee there isn't much interest from the rest of the league either.

With the mere mentioning of Switzerland does it not mean that he only has a chance with the Canucks? And on this team he gets prime PP minutes.

If it was not for the ingenious like drafting there might be more players challenging for a spot on the team from Abby.

I guess with him it is the devil you know so obviously he will be back and we get another 12-24 months of discussing him.

Chia-son (hey, he could play in Japan...) is ok if he is the 13th forward. Kinda like the fair as a kid. You gotta be better than that guy to play for the Canucks. I really do hope Allvin spends less time on this signing/contract than we already have here. :D

Not much there that would upgrade over Shenn, Myers, Burroughs, Poolman? They’ll need a trade to make significant improvements.

Klingberg will be overpaid for his offence, but poor defence should mean stay away.
Schultz (as depth) has signed with Rutherford before?
Manson has grit, but his -11 is worrisome? Not a top pairing guy.
Bring back Gudbranson and Stecher? :D
We are all Snidely Whiplash.

The amount of amazing 27-28 year old Miller replacements on that list of RH UFA D-men is absolutely shell shocking huge! YUGE!!!

When did Miller switch to playing D? And he’s right handed now to boot…. Who knew?

Popular opinion is swapping out Miller for a RS D-man. C’mon Roberto Macchenzzi have canoli and espresso this morning, you’ll be happier.

The Dude is facetiously saying that the proposal of letting Miller walk so we can upgrade the RS defence is faulty, because an extended Miller will be more valuable than the available UFA RSDs listed.

Geez everyone needs espressos and cannolis this morning!
