Impressive for the era he played in and second only to Roberto all time as far as Canucks go.

Eccentricities?

Gary wore (allegedly) up to a dozen pairs of socks for additional padding under his skates.

He was also nicked Axe due to his propensity for swinging his stick at opponents around his cage.

Undressed, took a cold shower and geared back up between every period (including new socks).

There's more....
Remember when Gary Smith punted the puck down the ice? He used to work at the track at Exhibition Park, maybe he still does, and I saw him pretty frequently around the general area for years. He was also the first player I ever saw in street clothes, sitting in a virtually empty upper bowl at a Blazers game, and we were just kids running around up there. He actually chatted with us for about a good 15 minutes or so, wish we had camera phones back then.

The 74/75 season was unreal, he actually got Hart Trophy votes and was a serious contender. First time in the playoffs and I got to go to the very first home game against the Habs.

"hideous comment"

You posted a link to a pic and I made a good-natured joke.

Then you made the yo-wifey crack and I crushed you like a bug.

First time I saw Suitcase was when he lugged the puck to center ice playing for the leaves. The crowd went nuts and a legend was born. Was pretty stoked when we acquired him and he was phenomenal for us in the nets. Good times.

I saw a few Blazers games myself, they were fun.

It's Miller time. His current season is one of the ten best of all time for Canuck players, pointswise.

_1 Henrik Sedin....... 2009-10 82 29 83 112
_2 Pavel Bure.......... 1992-93 83 60 50 110
_3 Pavel Bure.......... 1993-94 76 60 47 107
_4 Alexander Mogilny. 1995-96 79 55 52 107
_5 Markus Naslund.... 2002-03 82 48 56 104
_6 Daniel Sedin........ 2010-11 82 41 63 104
_7 Todd Bertuzzi...... 2002-03 82 46 51 _97
_8 Henrik Sedin....... 2010-11 82 19 75 _94
_9 Patrik Sundstrom.. 1983-84 78 38 53 _91
10 J.T. Miller......... 2021-22 74 29 62 91
11 Pavel Bure.......... 1997-98 82 51 39 _90
12 Markus Naslund.... 2001-02 81 40 50 _90

So these are all the 90 and above seasons for Canuck players.

Has me a bit worried that once Petey hits his stride he'll push Patrik Sundström, probably the greatest Björklöven player of all time, off the top ten list. :(
Well... if Miller doesn't do it before him.
