Rookie and training Camp 2021

Post by Cornuck »

The season gets underway tomorrow (Sept 15) with the rookie camp - our first look at the Pod in camp, and he should shine! :) Another in a recent string of exciting rookies we've been spoiled with.

Will Jet Woo stand out? Will be make a case this year to be a call up?

Klimovich will be the other one to keep an eye on, but will be in Q soon enough.

Yup looking forward to seeing Podz, Klimovich, Viktor Persson, Woo.
As the THW wrote about: https://thehockeywriters.com/canucks-pl ... okie-camp/

They predict these 3 to graduate to the big leagues.
Three of the Canucks’ top 10 rookies should be graduating to the NHL in Podkolzin, Rathbone and Olli Juolevi.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

For the team's sake I really hope Woo an Persson does well in the AHL this season, the team needs some D prospects coming up.

Might well be the most high spirited camps in a long time. Many new faces competing for only so many spots on the big club. Also our first look at new assistant coach Brad Shaw and what he brings to the team and works with Green.

Podkolzin interview through an interpreter / 8;33 min.

He's been in some difficult situations in the KHL but overall I'm happy with the experience.

Say he's not nervous if speaking without the interpreter. 8-)

He's trying very hard to learn English asap / Wife is happy.

So far his new team mates have been great. He's followed the Canuck very much from Russia.

He's very good friends with Hoglander / having a great time.

Klimovich will be able to adjust to Quebecois life and work on his French in the Q...

DANILA KLIMOVICH; Interview with the help of the same blonde translator .as the Pod had..
Danila Klimovich on his expectations for training camp: I'm just trying my best. I'm hoping to play with the team.
I really love Vancouver. I like going for walks here. It's not strange at all (that everyone speaks English). I'm going to do my best to learn English eventually. It's a big challenge, but I'm a person who accepts challenges.
Danila Klimovich says the Canucks want him to work on his attacking skills and being more aggressive.

It was important for me to learn that the same blonde translator was used by both these guys. I had been wondering that for sometime and was unable to find anything on the internet that would confirm this one way or the other. So thanks Mikey, it was the most important piece of information to be had!

Somehow I knew Mick would turn this thread into a shitshow of links, rather than actually discuss what's going on in camp.

Note to Mick: put these interviews and other things in your thread where they belong.

LOL at Wids dripping wet... with sarcasm. "Mikey"

What did you expect, Corn. I've never seen someone so tone deaf, even after all the repeated suggestions and warnings from fellow posters and mods.

Fuck, I might as well just spam this place with my affiliate links. I can just ignore and keep on posting and nothings going to happen, right?

Not so fast... we need to test his reporting skills first.

Okay Mick, get up on the roof with your binoculars and tell us what you see for the next 2 hours.

A possible thunderstorm is in the forecast so you might land a real good story buddy!
