The researchers injected rats with HU210, a synthetic drug that is about one-hundred times as powerful as THC, the high-inducing compound naturally found in marijuana

Are you OK, rats? :(

Skellefteå ended the regular season with a 3-1 loss. :towel:
They ended third in the league and will face Färjestad in the quarter finals, starting on April 1st.
Hopefully getting spanked so hard they can't sit for a week.

Linus had an assist on the goal and ends the season with 46 points (26G 20A) in 52 games.

This lands him in first place in rookie scoring, with the second best guy reaching a mere 38 points.

It also lands him in third place overall in the SHL in regular season goal scoring, beating Adam Tambellini in 4th place, who had 24 goals.
It also lands him in ninth place in the SHL in regular season points, trailing the winner, Ryan Lasch, by 20 points, but, yeah, still.

For a rookie to be in the top ten in points and top three in goal scoring in the league is pretty good imesho.

And as already mentioned he set a new record for goals scored by a rookie, beating Elias Pettersson's old one.

So what's his status? Does he still have a contract with the SHL for next year (longer?)? Does he want to get over here ASAP? He should be ready for the AHL, if he's been playing in the SHL, correct?

They have til June 1 to get his signature or he's a UFA. All indications are he wants to sign aboard as the money would be the same wherever he went as a ELC rookie. I'm sure the Swedish legacy in Van should ensure he's signed

Also, they have their playoffs starting next Thursday so they probably have a deal ready to sign

He just broke Petey's record
On an interesting note, LK is leading his team in goals by far with 26, next guy is @ like 17. Former Nuck Jayce Hawryluk is actually on the team as well and he only has 8G. :D

If LK can step in and be a decent scorer next season, it might make Brockstar expendable. Brock really isn't scoring enuff for what we're paying him. I can see it now, the new Swedish line that's going to carry us for the next decade: Hoggy-Petey-Karlly! :P

Lol. Jesus, that’s a bit of a stretch!

So, when do you want the new Swedish sensation to score at Brock’s pace? Is the comparison going to be age-for-age, or year-for-year in the league?
(Unless it’s gonna be one of the chefs comparisons where they go apples to onions… then i state for the record I don’t do enough shrooms to compete with that comparison!)

Skellefteå has lost the first two game of their quarter final and Linus Karlsson has been held off the score sheet.
16:25 toi and 4 sog in game 1, 16:40 and 5 in game 2.

Djurgården, the team with most SHL championship titles, 16, finished last this season and has been demoted. This means that Stockholm no longer has a team in the SHL. The winner of the Hockeyallsvenskan playoffs will take their place.

Björklöven is pursuing that. They won their quarter final against Västerås in five and will face Modo in the semifinal.
The game winning goal in game five was a beauty, scored by local boy William Eriksson.

Björklöven won last night to tie the semifinal against Modo 3-3 and forcing a seventh game.

From Aftonbladet:
"... one of the main characters of this semifinal was the main attraction tonight. Daniel Rahimi, the law enforcement, was everywhere and played the entire game. The box score suggests just over 20 minutes, but that is obviously wrong, it cannot have been less than 47 minutes of ice time.
At the end of the game he played non stop for three minutes. When Björklöven scored 5-3 in an empty net I assumed he would sit for the remainder of the game, but he played the last 29 seconds as well.
As stern as the paymaster of a stone mason trade union, Rahimi is, and when he wasn't weeding the area in front of the goal he was grubbing in the corners, and when he wasn't trying to push Modo players through the boards or lift away opponents by the skin of their neck, he occassionally ventured forward, once even rounding the offensive zone goal cage, looking for open ice. It's been a long time since I saw this kind of sheriff shine in Hockeyallsvenskan and the bearded blueliner will surely receive a warm welcome in Örnsköldsvik on Thursday."

Tough as nails, he is. And as the game ended and Björklöven began to celebrate, one of the Modo players, Riley Woods, came swinging at him, Rahimi just leaned back, and another Björklöven player, Wiklund grabbed Woods and ragdolled him. We do not want Rahimi to miss any games. He is so getting under the skin of the Modo players, even their coach was foaming at the mouth about him, claiming he sucks as a player, that he can't keep up and that the only thing that allows him to play is that the refs use a different set of rules for him...

Lol! He got booked a lot by the refs when he was younger, but he has gotten really good at knowing where the line is. He is slashing, cross checking, pushing, beating, hitting the opponents, but just not so blatanty that the refs call him for it. And he is big and strong enough that the opponents can't punish him themselves. And he throws some major hits, both open ice and into the boards. And then when the opponents get mad at him, they often start swinging or cross checking in a way that lands them in the penalty box. That being said, he got a 2 minute tripping penalty last night, but that was a wrong call. He tapped the guy on the thigh and the bastard dove. Hardly a tripping. Why would you fall forward when someone hits you on the thigh? :eh:
