The fact you think people are actually angry is……. interesting. I can’t speak for Per with his feathered hair.

I’ve been maybe mad twice on a message board.

ODB got me back in the day and Doc got me once.

Are you a closet Maple Leaves fan?

Also, they look a lot like bruins unis, which doesn't help the matter the least. :scowl:

Anyway, Simon Robertsson, who scored that game winning penalty, is the son of former Canuck Bert Robertsson.

In case you wondered.

It's a frickin' weird shape on that maple leaf, btw. The maples in Skellefteå must be as inbred as the townspeople.
Yeah, definitely looks more like a piss stain. :look:

Do you have some problem with a maple leaf there Per?

Well, that maple leaf looks more normal, and it's not even white and blue.

But look at this piss stain!

Or, better, don't. It hurts the eyes. :scowl:

Doesn't even have a stem.

Whoever designed it must never have seen a maple.

So that's why I haven't reported much on Linus.
But now I did. I think he is an interesting prospect.

Even if he currently has trespassed into enemy territory and is wearing an god-awful ugly jersey. :scowl:

He just broke Petey's record
I think he is. Not franchise player material but a really good third line player.

And regarding the record, my first reaction was - which one? Pettersson set a whole bunch...

But OK, Linus has 26 goals and 19 assists in 51 games, a total of 45 points with one game remaining of the regular season.
Elias had 24 goals and 38 assists in 44 games (he missed a bunch due to the WJC and some injury), a total of 56 points.
He set new all time rookie records for goals, assists and total points, despite missing eight games. :look:

Linus has now beaten the rookie record for most goals, which imho proves he is a very good prospect, but he is not Elias Pettersson level.

If you break it down to goals-per-game, 24 in 44 is 0.545 whereas 26 in 51 is 0.510. Both very respectable.
So if Elias hadn't played in the World Juniors, he probably still would have the goals record.
But he still holds the points record, the assists record and the ppg and gpg records. 8-)
And then he went on to set a new record for points scored in the playoffs (19 in 13 games). Not just rookie, but for all players.
(our playoffs start with quarter finals, so you only need to win twelve to become champions)

Also keep in mind that Elias was 19 at he time and Linus is 22.

Don't get me wrong, Linus is still a great prospect, I just don't want people to think he is at the same level as Petey.

But hey - setting a new all time rookie record is impressive, regardless of your age.

Whether you are 19 or 22, you are still adjusting to a new level that is faster and more punishing than the one you are used to.
And adjusting so well that you set an all time record for goals in a rookie season means you are a quick learner and that you have the goods.

I had actually missed that. As I've said, I do not follow Skellefteå, which makes it complicated when they have a Canuck prospect on their team...
A lot of conflicting emotions. I want him to do well, but I want them to burn in hell. It's complicated.

Nice to see that L.Karlsson has a good scoring touch. I thought he was projected more as a 2-way centre.

They were talking about him in last nite's game and I'm surprised Jamal Mayers said Karlsson reminded him of Patrick Laine, big and can rip the puck. I dunno, as much as I would luv that to be true, Karlsson is only listed @ like 6'1, 180 pounds. If Karlsson can become a Filip Forsberg, I'd be happy. :P

My prediction on LK is that he will not play more than 80 games for the Canucks. I hope to be proven wrong but in so many cases a player at his age who is not in the NHL (unless you are a D or goalie) rarely makes an impact on the team.
