Maybe we can trade for MacEwenMadcombinepilot wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 1:37 pm Lol
So, now they could conceivably go looking for a 4th liner that can tilt and skate. Would have been nice to have some pushback when Garland was getting thugged the other night.

So is he coming back or does the team go out and add a 3 million dollar right handed SAH dman?
From Kuzma:
Karma and shit
From Kuzma:
So the team will just hold his cap hit indefinitely. Fuck that's pretty nice of Jimmy.A leave of absence and surrendering of pay keeps open the possibility of Hamonic returning to the club because a suspension without salary could be a prelude to a termination of his contract. #Canucks

I would think that if they do go out and add anyone they would first take this to the next step and seek to terminate his contract. If he decides to come back after they have replaced them it puts them in cap trouble I would think. Burroughs play has made this a little less of an urgent need.

Agree to disagree on this one but kudos to Burroughs in that his play so far has certainly contributed to the Canucks not being too pooched with Hamonic not here and hopefully that continues.Cousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 3:58 pm Burroughs has the quick first step that the others lack. Plus he finishes his checks.
Neither Bowie or Schenn are as good
Besides, I typically don’t like to disparage the local guys unless it’s very well deserved (ie: Virtanen), especially after they’ve been very vocal about how they’re living the dream suiting up for the club they’ve cheered for since their childhood like Burroughs did in that recent Province article, Hunt and Petan before him and Juulsen when he arrived in Abbotsford.

Does anybody know if we can use hamonics cap space to pay for player bonuses for this year?

Re: Canucks News n Notes 21-22
I do like Schenn but he lacks that first step, obviously he is more physical but that foot speed concern contributes to the D zone fire drills. He will be a good sub for later in the year or during injuries if Hamboner stays on the couch but to my veiny red eyes, Burroughs is a tad betterCurmudgeon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:21 amAgree to disagree on this oneCousin Strawberry wrote: ↑Sat Oct 16, 2021 3:58 pm Burroughs has the quick first step that the others lack. Bowie is a minor leaguer at this stage. Good story but hes like 5th or 6th on the right side depth chart

So Petan's heading to Abby with Boeser returning, but who leaves the lineup? Better not be Podkolzin or it might just be time to hire a plane and "Fire Green" banner.

Well, should be a guy who the coaching staff can barely spell his name.Curmudgeon wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 12:03 pm So Petan's heading to Abby with Boeser returning, but who leaves the lineup? Better not be Podkolzin or it might just be time to hire a plane and "Fire Green" banner.

We'll seemingly be using LTIR all year so all bonuses will be pushed forward to next season.Richardstroker69 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 11:24 am Does anybody know if we can use hamonics cap space to pay for player bonuses for this year?
Let's talk Halak into letting us trade him before he plays that tenth game.

Did anyone one else see this?
The son of Vancouver Canucks general manager Jim Benning was hospitalized following an alleged assault outside a Yaletown nightspot early Sunday morning.
Danica Benning, the daughter of the Canucks GM, posted on Instagram that her brother was attacked by four men while the two were waiting for an Uber outside the Banter Room at 1039 Mainland Street.
“I tried to fight them off my brother and then one of them strangled me and threw me up against the wall,” Danica Benning wrote in her post. “The police were notified but (the four men) ran off immediately. My brother is in the hospital.”
Vancouver police spokesperson Tania Visintin confirmed that officers were called to an assault in progress around 2 a.m. in the 1000 block of Mainland Street.
“A 25-year-old man had very visible injuries to his face. He declined any assistance from paramedics and told officers he would go to the hospital himself,” said Visintin.
Danica Benning has two brothers and didn’t say in her post which one was attacked. However, the age of the victim lines up with the age of her younger brother, Nicholas.
Brandon, the older Benning brother, is in his 30s and works as a scout for the Canucks.
Postmedia has reached out to the Canucks for comment.
