Yeah, I don't know RG.

I'm sure if researched we could denote where many a drafting genius fucked up picks.

Admittedly I know fuck all about Ollie other than Blob believes he was a shit pick from Day 1 and he bombed here for whatever reason (be it injury or just a complete miss).

Seems to me Benning deserves credit for several quality picks and if he fucked up OJ, hey, no one ever bats 1000 (keeping in mind rumour has it FA pushed him on JV).

As far as Holden and PTSD goes, geez, how many names could we list, Herter, Woodley.....Mike Wilson and Libor Polasek in successive years when we had a chance to build a perennial contender.

There's a lot of fuck up in those history books...

dangler wrote: Sun May 15, 2022 10:23 am Common consensus is to draft BPA, but Canucks desperately need some depth D-men.
Even though it didn't work out last time (Juolevi) they did it, i hope they go this route.
Man, JB really wanted a D-man in that Olaf draft, but some pretty good top 4 D-men went right after him (ie: Sergechev, McAvoy, Chychrum). Even some lesser knowns like Jake Bean, Dante Fabro, Logan Stanley and Dennis Cholowski each have more NHL games under their belts than JuJu. :(
Yes.

But is that evidence against the premise that Benning was a drafting genius, or was what would otherwise have been a brilliant career sidelined by an unfortunate series of early injuries from which he never fully recovered?

Does the name Josh Holden trigger PTSD in any posters here?
Josh Holden had his arm slashed open. He was never the same.

Olli Juolevi was just a piss poor pick with MT sitting there. Olli has a heart the size of a pea.

I still maintain Linden hated chuckles dad so much that he let his personal bias get in the way of his better judgement.

They didn't even interview the kid. It's unheard of to not interview every top prospect when you're picking in the top 10

Walt bullied Trevor as did Claude the Toad. Trevor had a River of piss running down his leg. Our “captain”

I think slashing a pile of tendons in one’s wrist might be a bit harder to overcome than a knee surgery, considering hundreds of players have had that surgery and came back…..but I’m no Doctor.

Olaf wasn’t projecting well at all before his injuries. He stunk in London and Sami Salo called him out for a lack of compete in Finland.

Speaking of Keith, ex ref Tim Peel was on with the Spittin' Chiclets boys last week.

A great listen overall with several solid stories including a couple of Walt ones.....

That wasn’t me. I remember saying Brandon Sutter’s ankles went to his waist and his wrists extended to his shoulders.

Sigh… we always got the shittiest Sutter or Pronger

Got the best Bure I guess.

We had both Courtnalls. One was much better than the other.
