Re: 2022 Draft Class
Would you trade our 1st rd 2022 pick straight up for a 1st rd 2023 pick? No 1st in 2022 but 2 firsts in 2023?

I would say yes but I'll have to check in with Ronnings Ghost first.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 8:18 am Would you trade our 1st rd 2022 pick straight up for a 1st rd 2023 pick? No 1st in 2022 but 2 firsts in 2023?

Re: 2022 Draft Class
If you can guarantee the pick would be top 15, sure. There’s no way to know that though. Teams performances are so volatile from year to year. Who saw the Islanders pissing their pants like they did? Or who saw the Kings and Rangers making the playoffs?Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 8:18 am Would you trade our 1st rd 2022 pick straight up for a 1st rd 2023 pick? May as well make the pick and get the kid going since they haven’t chosen in the first round since 2019 and have hemorrhaged multiple 2nd and 3rd round picks the last few years including this upcoming draft.

Re: 2022 Draft Class
I’m all for trading it for a 2023 1st rd pick. The 2022 class stinks like Mukhamedullin

Re: 2022 Draft Class
Just any old 2023 first round pick. Could be 31st overall for the 15th this year and it would be better. I mean who wouldn’t trust a scout who can’t skate and hangs drywall for a living? Never seen any of the kids play but he nailed the fuck out of the 2017 draft - well not really. He said it was horrible over and over and over. He’s been proven wrong.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 5:22 pm I’m all for trading it for a 2023 1st rd pick. The 2022 class stinks like Mukhamedullin

Re: 2022 Draft Class
Does Slafkovsky go 1st overall with his outstanding performance at the IIHF?

Petey,Quinn & Demko are ready now.
Any pick is probably going to need some time to make it to the NHL, especially defensemen.
No more pick trading for a couple of seasons, the prospect depth needs replenishing

He looked good in the Olympics too. The kid is a moose. Great hands, they can’t get the puck off of him. I still think Wright goes 1. There’s a definite top 6, maybe a top 7 in this first tier. Savoie fits in there somewhere, so do the two RH d men from Czech and SLV.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 7:43 amDid you see him, Doyle? Re: 2022 Draft Class
I think there is no doubt that the Habs draft Wright as they are thin at Centre. Dvorak was a disappointment and Poehling hasn’t developed as well as they thought he would. Slafkovsky is a perfect fit for the Devils. Hughes gets his big skilled winger. The first two picks are easy to predict

Re: 2022 Draft Class
I was hoping the Czech D might slide down do to the knee injury but he has bounced back. Hoping the Russian D is there now but probably not I guess.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 12:17 pmHe looked good in the Olympics too. The kid is a moose. Re: 2022 Draft Class
This is the guy you mean Megs?
Pavel Mintyukov (Saginaw, OHL)
Age: 18
Nationality: Russian
Position: Left defence
Size: 6-foot-1, 192 pounds
2021-22 stats: 67 GP, 17 G, 45 A, 62 PTS
Pavel Mintyukov, a Moscow-born defender, was one of the most productive blueliners in the Ontario Hockey League in the 2021-22 season. So productive, in fact, that the left-shot defenceman’s 62 points across 67 games was third across all OHLers and first among draft-eligible defenders.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound blueliner was the Saginaw Spirits’ offensive catalyst this season, pushing otherworldly activations off the blue line, one-on-one handling skill, and high-end shooting ability that almost allowed him to score 17 goals across the regular season.
Mintyukov invites aggression, exploits openings, and seemingly only pushes high-danger shot attempts and slot-oriented passes. He’s also a problem solver, capable of processing pressure and working plays into advantages, even jumping on broken plays to further break down defences — especially in transition.
An uber-aggressive defender off the rush, Mintyukov would rather kill controlled entries high in the neutral zone, then let clean entries. This aggression pays off consistently, but he can get caught high as play breaks the other way.
Projection: Mintyukov has true top-pairing upside, the tool and sense blend to push high minutes. It’s unlikely that he will be available at 15, as sky’s-the-limit for the offensively inclined defender.
