I was in Oakalla with some Clark Park guys. They sure can play hand ball. I remember Shaker Baker, the warden of West Wing. Anyone else here recall the name? He was called Shaker due to his coming into a cell and shaking it up while looking for contraband. Not all of the hacks were bad but there was one named Goldman who would wack you with his baton if your shirt was untucked. What a fuck head.

Not sure why I am going down memory lane but I am sure some poster will tell me.

That's funny I spent some formative years in the 70's near Clark Park, the other side of Knight actually but cut through there many times, and they were a big thing back then. Riley Park too.

Thanks. I don't know how I missed this the first time but that was a great listen. I never listened to this podcast before but these guys seem to be having a good time and it's contagious, and of course they really know their stuff.

And JD Burkis is practically suicidal on his twitter, thanks to Doyle for the tip. All in all this has made for a good hour of fun and frivolity. and I haven't even heard the Pettersson interview yet.

I spent most of my childhood at my Grandmother who was caretaker for Mackenzie Barge and Derrick which was at the foot of Victoria Drive. I used to go place bets for her at the Princeton on the nags at X park. Back then I could roam all over the waterfront. Now I cannot even go down there without breaking the law. How times have changed. The Princeton used to have a Ladies and Escorts entrance and right beside it was [MOD EDIT] where I bought Mission Orange soda and played his baseball machine. Later my family moved to Yale Street and both my brothers went to Templeton.
