Who wins the lottery?

Post by UWSaint »

Oilers. Because they have luck in the draft and the story is that much more tragic when it fails again to make a difference because the other teams still get to shoot on your goalie.

Predators. A difference making forward on a team that seems to be always a forward shy no matter what they do.

Wild. The Wild have tried to retool on the fly. Heck, they are turning over everything. This would help them immeasurably. But goaltending is going to be a question.

Jets. A ton of mostly young talent up front, good goaltending, and a reconstituted-by-necessity defense that was better than a train wreck. Out largely because of injury. Lafrieniere restores the window. Imagine if they didn't carry poor contracts on Little and Perrault and could add Pietrangelo, Krug, or even Vantanen. Imagine if it weren't Manitoba....

Rangers. Conspiracy!

Penguins. Conspiracy! (Honestly, though, its been 15 years since the Pens won the last weird draft. They managed to hold together a competitive team the whole time, and they did it by sticking to a small core and being very active with satellite parts. That core's window is fading because of age; Lafreniere allows them to potentially move from Lemiuex/Jagr to Crosby/Malkin to Lafreniere/Guentzel seamlessly. Still, not sure of that as your core pair, but one things for sure, the Pens organization knows how to use star players. Which is more than can be said for....

Maple leaves. Conspiracy!

Panthers. This team is seemingly lost. Something is seriously wrong on the back end. Yet there are plenty of assets. If they win tonight, my advice? Blow it all up and load up on picks/2017-2019 draft year prospects and aim for 3-4 years out.

Do you want: who we would rather see win? Panthers

Who we hope wins? Panthers

Who will win? Edmonton

According to David Staples on twitter, Edmonton, Pittsburgh or Toronto deserves it for taking the added risk of playing during the play in round.

Forget that.

Who I want to win: Minnesota, they deserve it. Would be okay with Nashville too. Hope either of them wins.

Which probably means, one of the 3 I really don't want to win probably will.

In order of who I DON'T want to see win it:

leaves/Oilers

Jets/Pens
NYR/Wild/Nash

Florida

Don't want him in the west regardless of who and especially not the Oilers.
Want him in the east but absolutely not with the leaves, prefer not the Pens but at least they're not the leaves, not the Rangers but at least they're not the leaves, and so the best case scenario is letting him waste the start of his career in Florida.

I know Minnesota isn't in our division anymore - but still play them 3 times a year... 6pts. I'd rather see the other conference teams (and badly managed ones) get the 1st overall. Florida it is!

#1 choice: Florida

#2 choice: Toss-up between the Jets & Preds

#3 choice: Minnesota

Fuck the rest.

I just went Panthers cause presently, I don't hate them, AND, Jovo cop still talks Canucks Monday mornings on the radio.
I liked him and he came from there so good enough. :drink:

I went with Nashville but could handle Florida or Minnesota.

But really, anyone but Edmonton, Pittsburgh or Toronto.

For the record: I voted oilers because that’s who I think is going to win it... not because I want them to

I want Florida to win

And for the record.... I want Florida to win to keep him far far away for as long as possible

My vote is for Edmonton to win it only because they will win it

Are people voting for who they want to win or who will win?

I want Florida to win but Edmonton will win. If not Edmonton, Toronto will win

Rags are the first team to be eliminated in the play-ins, so it's fitting, kinda.
