2019-20 NHL Playoffs

Post by SKYO »

East:
Penguins vs Canadiens
Hurricanes vs Rangers
Islanders vs Panthers
Maple leaves vs Blue Jackets

West:
Oilers vs Blackhawks
Predators vs Voyotes
Canucks vs Wild
Flames vs Jets

Image
Bottom 8 teams in each conference will play a best of 5 qualifying "play-in" round

Rounds 1 and 2 of playoffs will either be Best of 5 or Best of 7

Conference finals and Stanley Cup finals will be Best of 7

Canucks vs Wild season series:

Jan. we beat em 4-1 (Marky)(Dubnyk), then lost 4-2 (Marky)(Stalock), 4-3 in shootout (Marky)(Stalock).

Fiala scored twice vs VAN.
Other 1 goal scorers: Foligno, Galchenyuk, Kunin, Hunt, Hartman, Parise.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

They're a big bruising team the Wild. I think we can beat them in a five game series but it isn't really a matchup I'm crazy about. I seem to recall them knocking us around pretty good in one or two of those games and you don't want to take too much damage in an opening round series.

Really stoked for hockey though. Drop the puck!

Six out of Seven Canadian teams make the cut, woohoo!

(Nobody mention the fact no Canadian team got a bye for the play-in round...)

This is likely how the series will be won or lost for the nux. Can they weather Foligno and Greenway on the walls? Can they use the powerplay to punish effectively? Do they have enough pushback?

Will Green adapt to a rougher series with attitude and lineup changes? Will he let the boys pushback, or adopt the 2011 strategy of "revenge it on the power play"?

Teams will end up having like a month or more to build a gameplan for these play-in series. Unprecedented!

Anyway the wild had a Shitty pk while the couve had an exceptional (at times) powerplay. Going by how he has historically dealt with thumping teams, i predict its the old 2011/turn the other cheek/embrace the speedbaggings/hit 'em on the powerplay type of game plan coming up.

Badgers can’t beat bears either... both know it but avoid it just the same...

Maybe a combination of the two might work

Good god. lets hope this isn't the case - we need him healthy and playing. If he is blocking shots, taking hits to make plays (like usual) - and laying the body big time - he is DOOMED.
