Per... keep in mind the Chef has likely never seen Dahlin play a game. He just goes by points but neglects to mention one guy had a concussion and played less games. Der’s dat narrative again.Per wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 11:39 pmUnderwhelmed? Seriously? The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 10:30 amI'd say Hughes has far exceeded his projected value whereas Dahlin has slightly underwhelmed....but as you say, this is what 1 and a half years after draft? Waaay too early.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 10:13 am Dahlin night not score as much but he’s a much better defender than Hughes. Keep in mind he’s missed five games with a concussion as well so he could easily have 20 + points.
The kid has not yet turned twenty and is in his second NHL season.
He had 44 points last year. As an 18-yo blueliner.
Your expectations must have been astronomical!
Both Dahlin and Hughes are fantastic.
And it's way too early to sum up their careers at this point.
Seriously, most D-men hit their stride in their late twenties, so we still have no clue to what they will look like in their peak years.
Just that they are already awesome hockey players and that it is not inconceivable that both could earn Norrises.
Earlier in the thread I said I’d pick Hughes after Dahlin and the Russian. Reading not your thing? I guess an could dig up some of your posts about hoping the Canucks don’t pick that “shrimp” Hughes. Up and down like a whore’s pants. Never change.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 4:49 pm “And Red Wings select Filip Zadina!” - Kenny BC Holland
Hardeggs is probably picking Zadina, Kotkaniemi, Hayton and Tkachuk ahead of the Calder candidate and future Norris Trophy winner - Quinn Hughes, he’s that out to lunch
I'm not really going into a debate of who is better; they are both great young d-men with tons of potential.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 4:00 pm Dahlin 1 goal 17 assists - in 26 games, ie 0.69 PPG and he is +2
Hughes 2 goals 24 assists - in 33 games, ie 0.79 PPG and he is -6
Maybe we get to see them with their current teams head to head in a best of seven game series. Only one way that happens.Per wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 1:47 amI'm not really going into a debate of who is better; they are both great young d-men with tons of potential.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 4:00 pm Dahlin 1 goal 17 assists - in 26 games, ie 0.69 PPG and he is +2

But it's kind of unfair to throw out the number of points without acknowledging that one of the players has missed games due to injury.....
Huey still has a slightly higher PPG, but it's not as big a difference as you made it seem.
Again Per.... he’s never seen Dahlin play.Per wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 1:47 amI'm not really going into a debate of who is better; they are both great young d-men with tons of potential.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 4:00 pm Dahlin 1 goal 17 assists - in 26 games, ie 0.69 PPG and he is +2

I’ve seen him plenty. Hughes is just way too dynamic, flawless, brilliant, smart, skilled, skating. He’s a future Norris Triohy winnerDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 6:39 amAgain Per.... he’s never seen Dahlin play.Per wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 1:47 amI'm not really going into a debate of who is better; they are both great young d-men with tons of potential.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Dec 16, 2019 4:00 pm Dahlin 1 goal 17 assists - in 26 games, ie 0.69 PPG and he is +2

Ya think? I’m shocked he hasn’t got Madden at #2. Then again he watches Vancouver games only and is usually inebriated when he does watch them.vic wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 10:28 am^ Canucks homer right here.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 7:50 am Where does Quinn Hughes go in a redraft with what we know now?

Look, I’m very happy with Hughes. Great pick, who most likely will have a great career. And yeah, as I stated before, it’s not inconceivable that we are talking Norris level at his peak.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2019 6:44 amI’ve seen him plenty. He's a bigger defender than Hughes. Quinn is actually a much better defender than any of us credit him for. He's smart enough that he makes up for his small stature with a quick stick and great anticipation. He loses the physical battles in front, but along the boards he's good at timing his arrival, giving a little bump and tracking the loose puck quickly.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 10:13 am Dahlin night not score as much but he’s a much better defender than Hughes.
