"Chiarelli was hired on May 26, 2006 as the general manager of the Boston Bruins. He was signed to a four-year contract.[2] On June 19, 2009, Chiarelli received a four-year contract extension through the 2013–14 season. On June 15, 2011, Chiarelli won the Stanley Cup with the Bruins. Despite agreeing to an extension with the Bruins in August 2013,[3] Chiarelli was fired by the team on April 15, 2015.[4] On April 24, 2015, the Edmonton Oilers announced Chiarelli's hiring as general manager and president of hockey operations.[5] The Oilers announced his firing on January 22, 2019"
