4 years no way for Boeser. I get the sense Brock wants to get back to Minnesota soon like Parise and Suter. So 4 years no way. If so, we best not hold on to him to the final year of his contract and watch him walk for nothing like Parise and Suter.

Blobbee’s Boeser for Jones might have to resurface

I look at it a different way. If he wants the shortest route to RFA and is willing to take 6 or 6,5 to do so, that means two things;
1; He's gonna bust his ass and be the best of the best.
2; Four more years to get attached to his team-mates and the, hopefully fact, we'll be contending and going for it every year,
meaning dynasty.

.@benkuzma: I've learned the Boeser camp will do a 4 year deal with the #Canucks

Also is the shortest route to UFA, I think.
Boozema isn’t the best source. Benning usually floats the air balloons through I Mac the hand puppet. I mentioned in the contract thread that I’d heard Boeser wanted a five year deal. I’ve got a hunch he may want to home after his next deal so if he signs a four year deal I believe we’d still have his rights for one more year, but. I could be wrong. Maybe it’s not a horrible thing to look to move him if he wants the fastest route possible to UFA.

4 years is perfect, as who knows how his health will be, he's been injured in both his years here so far...

In any case this is no different than Crosby signing a 5 year, then the big contract. Boeser will still be a RFA after a 4 yr contract.

IF Dubas did this with Marner everyone would label him a god.

Does four years take him directly to UFA?

Good job getting Leivo signed. Decent bottom six player

Biech:
I believe he won’t be a UFA at 26 because he didn’t accrue a season for those 9 games to close out the year.
:thumbs:

*Furthermore from Bob McKenzie:
If a player plays in his 40th game of the season, it counts as an accrued year of service counting towards the seven years required to become an unrestricted free agent. Put more in terms us laymen can understand: If your favourite team's underage junior plays in 40 games this season, the clock starts ticking on his seven-year countdown to unrestricted free agency.

So a team may very well be prepared to "burn" that first year by allowing it's underage junior to play 10 games but, depending on how the player is faring at mid-season, won't permit the player to get into that 40th game, secure in the knowledge the young prospect is eight, not seven, years away from UFA.

That was my interpretation as well - I looked at Timo Meier on cap friendly and he's still an RFA after his new 4 year deal expires.

So four years is a bit of a show-me deal, he gets to establish himself before signing one final deal with the canucks.

Hey @CapFriendly if Brock Boeser was to sign a 4 year deal coming off his entry level deal would he become a UFA after the 4 years are up? Or still Canuck property?

CapFriendly
@CapFriendly
A four year deal would take him to age 26, and 6 accrued seasons. That would make him an RFA with Arb rights at the end of this hypothetical, and 1 year away from unrestricted free agency.

I just stole this, who cares: haha nobody in the media deserves any credit when there's so much confusion.
None the less. Power to the player if he has done really well at the end of the rumored 4 years, big time.

With Lievo now signed>>>>>Image>>>house cleaning time..

To sign Boeser they are going to have to make some moves.

I don't think so, CapFriendly's number includes 10 defencemen, at least 3 of whom will be sent down, and 15 forwards - 2 will be demoted (Schaller and Bailey), and Roussel will got to LTIR to start the season. That's over $4 million demoted, and $3 mil on LTIR.

That's not counting any Loui shenanigans, or the inevitable moves to LTIR during the preseason :lol:
