Yeah if Petey misses 30 or 40 games this team is fucked. Still a couple pieces shy of an elite core, which is why if they shit the bed this coming season they will at least be able to keep the pick in the best draft in five years.Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 1:02 pmBut would you feel the same if pettersson misses large portions of the season?

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
I think if ferkland lines up on his wing games will be chippier and insulating our golden goose will be important.
Having ferky absorbing the after whistle bullshit will go a long way to keeping the pipecleaner in the lineup

I’m anxious to see if having a bit of a deterrent will improve the play of the kids. I’ve always liked Ferland and think it was an excellent signingUncle dans leg wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 1:10 pm I think if ferkland lines up on his wing games will be chippier and insulating our golden goose will be important.

.
.Two ways to look at becoming a chippier, pushier, more physically aggressive team though. Some weeny teams may
cower and simply submit and get trashed on the scoresheet.
Some teams might take the approach; the moment they start hitting us, we will go after that slim Swedish kid or that blonde hair flipping dude
that scores a lot or that young little college kid on their defense.
I'm saying, it's a fine line and Green will have to be Mr. Wise. Stand em up hitting is good!!!
Instigating chippiness with cheapshots is bad.
Ya, we can now probably hold our own in one of them bench clearing brawls, (love those), but in regards to how we approach the tougher
team we will be this year, it will take some moxie, (controlled moxie), from the group as a whole.

I'm anxious to see how Ferkland will affect Jake's game. I hope Jake sees the player he can become by following Ferkland's example because he has way more physical tools. But the biggest thing is the tool between Jake's ears.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 1:22 pmI’m anxious to see if having a bit of a deterrent will improve the play of the kids. Canucks just might survive that, Miller would switch to centre:Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 1:02 pmBut would you feel the same if pettersson misses large portions of the season?
Pearson - Horvat - Boeser
Baertschi - Miller - Ferland
Wouldn't be easy, but they might survive (shrug).
One of the reasons Jimmy targeted Miller was because he plays centre...

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
Some Swedish newspapers expect both Raymond and Holtz to go in the top three, especially with both Dahlin and Pettersson adapting so well to the NHL game. But I guess that depends a lot on what they manage to showcase at the WJC this winter.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 6:29 am Button’s latest list

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
Button’s lists are a little wild, sometimes he nails it on some of his wildness sometimes not. Surprised where he has Byfield. Thinks he became too enamoured with Lapierre and Perfetti at the recent U-18’s, then again maybe they are that good. Those two and Askarov were stars in that tourney.Per wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 6:34 amSome Swedish newspapers expect both Raymond and Holtz to go in the top three, especially with both Dahlin and Pettersson adapting so well to the NHL game. Byfield lighting it up already. Button is a fucking pinhead having him rated that low. He could challenge for 1st overall.

Re: 2020 NHL Draft
Scenario 1 - Canucks just miss the playoffs and draft Halifax D-man Barron (lottery protected). Tampa gets the pick in the shitty 2021 draft class (Stankoven considered the top pick in 2021? He wouldn’t crack 2020’s top 10)
Scenario 2 - Canucks make the playoffs the Lightning opt to use the pick
Scenario 3 - Canucks make the playoffs the Lightning don’t opt to use the pick and will use it in 2021 (not lottery protected)
Scenario 2 will be the winner. The 2021 draft class is being viewed as not a good draft class plus no GM is that patient and secured enough in his job to wait
Slick Back Jet Black will acquire a first round pick for when Tampa decides to use the pick

If the Canucks make the playoffs it’s Tampa’s pick. If the Canucks miss the playoffs they keep the pick and Tampa gets it in 2021 regardless. The Brown Wizard wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 7:15 am Isnt it tampas pick unless the canucks decide to keep it and defer?

So the team reeeeally needs to make it this year then which makes fucking around playing your 12th and 13th dmen in the last tune up game even more perplexing...
