Lots of good d men get moved over the years. Jones, Pronger multiple times. Do your own research.

Olli had off season back surgery last summer couldn’t start hard off season training until training camp. Where in that did you think he was going to start with the Canucks last season out of camp?
He went back to junior after being drafted as a young for his draft class prospect. Not unheard of. Struggles with his maturity, didn’t take to going back to London well then they call in Salo to fast track his maturity by taking him to Finland. Cue in the injuries, surgeries and Blobs panic attacks

Yeah. So.
Salo had great things to say about Juolevi and the major steps he took in his development over in Finland. The small amounts of criticism was just s coach picking apart his game. Green picks at his best players games all the time.
Blob did you just wake up and became a hockey fan or are you truly this heart broken over not drafting the Turtle?

Re: 2018-2019 Stanley Cup Finals
Hmmm so the first camp okay he was overwhelmed. What happened at the 2nd camp as a 19 year old? Not close again. Last year you claim he was not right but he managed to start the season on time in Utica. The medical staff here determined he was good to go in the pre season yet he was miles away from cracking this garbage roster. This is a massive year for him. He tore his meniscus so he may never be the same. I built in an excuse for youRoyalDude wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 10:26 amAgainBlob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 9:59 am Lol Salo said the kid didn’t compete hard enough. Jones for a first line center.... yeah that’s not a winger. Pronger is ancient history. Truth is very few dmen get traded for wingers, cause wingers are a dime a dozen. Dmen are gold, most important position in the league today due to the lack of good ones.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 10:23 am Lots of good d men get moved over the years. Either way the Canucks are still shy three top six forwards and Juolevi MIGHT turn into a second pairing guy if all goes wellRichardstroker69 wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 10:40 amJones for a first line center.... yeah that’s not a winger. That was a rape of Chiarelli. Don’t use that as a benchmarkRichardstroker69 wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 10:46 amWell last top line winger traded got larsson a second pairing vanilla d man, sooooo looks like your valuation is a little offBlob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 10:44 amEither way the Canucks are still shy three top six forwards and Juolevi MIGHT turn into a second pairing guy if all goes wellRichardstroker69 wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 10:40 amJones for a first line center.... yeah that’s not a winger. Reinhart
Larson
Gudbranson
Zadarov
Hamilton
Hamonic
Jones
Muzzin
Montour
Only Blob can’t clue in on the premiums put on young defenceman. Why is the cost so high? Well they don’t grow on trees like wingers and are one of the most difficult/important areas to build, acquire, draft in.

I can, but it was not BPA, was it? It was a pick for a particular position, right?
I haven't given up on OLi. Hope he wins the Norris in 4 or 5 years.

If Canucks had drafted Tkapuke he would have been the one to suffer major injuries and OJ would have been healthy as a horse.Uncle dans leg wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 6:24 amYup.Blob Mckenzie wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 5:11 amNo.
It’s a prime example of a blown draft pick is what it is.

Just pointing out what a nothing-burger UK’s post was.Strangelove wrote: ↑Sat May 25, 2019 2:36 pm Lol, Nucklehead is triggered because he suffers from Benning Derangement Syndrome.
If you say anything good about Jimbro he loses his cornless shit.
It's only going to get worse as the golden new core rises to the top...
I have no problem saying good things about Benning. His drafting has been more often good than bad. The EP pick is the kind of franchise-altering selection we desperately needed. Boeser was a gem where they got him. I suspect he wanted the full-rebuild off the bat, but ownership said no. No issues there.
But it is okay to say he makes mistakes, you do know that, right? Tkachuk was the better pick. The Gudbranson trade was bad. The Eriksson signing was tragic. The mental gymnastics some posters need to go through to absolve Benning of any criticism is impressive.

Tkachuk is a cowardly weasel, but if OJ isn't a solid top-4 dman within 2-3 years I'll admit MT was the better pick.Island Nucklehead wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 2:37 pm But it is okay to say he makes mistakes, you do know that, right? Tkachuk was the better pick.
It really is too early, don't you think?
As an aside, I wouldn't be surprised if Tkachuk already had his career year and that gets him $9M x 8.
Which one?
I think you once reduced everything to McCann + 2nd for Pearson
... and I like that trade off.
And that's fair enough, no?
It turned out that way, yes.
But no one called it tragic at the time.
And in the end it won't hurt the rebuild and that's all that matters to me.
Try to focus on the rebuild.
I honestly love Jimbro as our GM.
Yes, at times I tend to exaggerate how great he is, but I feel we lucked out in landing him.
