The Luongo trade finally starting to work out for Gillis 6 years later - Markstrom. See what happens when you close the book too soon (see Juolevi haters). At least it (Markstrom) made up for Gillis inability to draft a goalie in 6 drafts.

Anybody notice 2nd round pick - Demko? Looking pretty good so far!

I think there are many uncertain feelings on Demko so far dude,His positional play issuspect but it is way early to conclude anything.

I think he’ll be fine, better than fine actually

Markstrom just turned 29 in January. With the assistance of Ian Clarke, he is hitting his prime now,
I see no reason that he will slide backwards now. I have no idea whether Demko will be "The Guy".
Sure, if Markstrom continues along his current path next year, a substantial raise will be applicable, so what?
With the Canucks schedule never seemingly ever getting easier, I don't know how a system of 2 Isn't better.

So long as their healthy, goalies age like fine wine and get better with age.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Part of the dilemma here is that we can only protect one goalie in 2021.

Gonna hafta re-sign Marx and then trade him or Demko by that point...

Try to focus on someday.

If there's one thing the Luongo/Schneider experience should have taught us, it's that you shouldn't worry about the goaltending market.

Doc it’s an embarrassment of riches thank to some shrewd drafting by Jim. Which is a good thing - trade!

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

If they both suck it's a different conversation.

Interesting how the narrative shifts to ignore double-standards.
