If the Avs win the 1st pick, would you trade Quinton for Cale Makar?

He was drafted to be a point generating, offensive dynamo, PP specialist, one trick pony. He was drafted to be that elite offensive guy on the backend. We still need to fix the D side of defence, with or without Hughes.
So just like the lil'trojan signing.

Sorry HW, at some point he has to play D.
You've been pretty quiet about the "li'l Trojan" lately .
Wonder why?
No I haven't. look and you will see.

His silly offensive forays are down, but his D zone play is still abysmal.

If Stecher’s d zone play is abysmal, how would one rate Gudbranson’s d zone play? Christ I lost count at a half dozen giveaways he had in the 3rd period alone on Saturday. He had three in one shift!!

Power skating lessons for Guds this summer!!!
Hey; Over the years, quite a few regular NHLers have done that and it's made a difference for the better.

Lil' trojan never makes as far as getting the puck before he's muscled out of the play.

Did any D play well Saturday?

Nope, they all stunk, but they had little help from the forwards other than Roussel, Eriksson (yuck) and Sutter (yuck). Bo was ok, Virtanen blew the zone a lot and skated in circles a fair bit. This scabby D needs that back pressure or they’ll give up 5 per game.

My point is EG passed the pick directly on to the opponents stick multiple times and more than anyone else. He is better to pound it off the boards

I’d trade Bo Horvat and our 2019 1st for Jack Hughes

Or I’d ask for the Avalanches 2nd round pick along with Makar. Timmins has serious concussion problems not a fan of Bowers

Really?

How do you feel about my proposal ?

I’d ask for Colorado’s 2nd along with Makar. They are the ones who are pushing the trade to unite the brothers

Boy, that would be a tough call.

At this point, I'd say they're both pretty equal. But if the Avs did indeed get Jack and wanted to reunite the bros, I would ask for more than just Makar. We would have the hammer.

Makar, Jost and a 2nd for QH, prospect and a 3rd?

I just don't see Benning or Weisbrod biting though.

Does Colorado not have their own 1st in 2019? That could be a lottery pick as well. I’d say if you want to reunite the Hughes Bros that bad give us Makar and your 2019 1st and you got a deal. If not I’m keeping Hughes, I think his ceiling is higher than Makars.

Regarding Jost I’m not sold on him. Every time I’ve seem him play Im underwhelmed, he’d be like a poor mans Horvat at best

The Canucks have depth at centre in the pipeline with Gaudette and Madden. One of them could be dangled, but I’d hate to lose Madden to be honest, I got a feeling this kid is going to be good

I don't know what happened to Jost's development, but I was always quite high on him. I thought he would turn out to be a kind of Sakic-lite. Who knows, maybe he's just on the Sedin-like turtle-pace development.

But I would be real hesitant to trade away Gaudette or Madden before really seeing their game in the bigs.

Man, I'm really bad at these trade scenarios. None of us are Skyo, amrite?
