The Oilers are a disaster. McJesus the human highlight reel, isn’t a winner, just a stat man

Puljiarvi - shouldn’t have been drafted in the top 10

Draisaitl - part of the terrible top 6 - Ekblad, Reinhart, Draisaitl, Bennett, Dal Colle, Virtanen

RNH - see Puljiarvi

Larsson for Hall - ouch

Strome for Eberle - see Larsson for Hall

Yakupov 1st overall - big ouch

Nurse - meathead

Klefbom - the great klefbom, NOT

Griffin Reinhart for Matthew Barzal - ouch

Talbot - not a no. 1 goalie

Lucic UFA - yikes

And so on
And so on
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

I agree RD. If you look at McDoofus's advanced stats his 5-on-5 numbers aren't great. The Coilers control almost 60% of puck possession with him on the ice, but his OZone vs DZone starts are pretty lopsided, and his PPTOI is insane.

All Deadmonton has ever done in the past 15 years is try to load up on high flying offensive talent up front, go figure that the mindset in all of their homegrown players doesn't really factor in play below their own blueline. You can't neglect the defensive side of the game that much in your build without this kind of thing happening.

I'd say that until McDavid learns to play the game the way Crosby does, being as tenacious on the back-check and in his own zone as he is on the attack, the Oilers will flounder. Connor has to lead the charge, clearly management can't and nobody in Edmonton wants to listen to the coach, no matter who he is.

The Oilers remind me of the days that Calgary had Iggy in his prime. They just couldn't seem to surround him with any first line talent. The Oilers have to hope guys like pool party and Hell-no-moto develop into first line players.

7-0 Pens after 2 periods.

Guess Tkachuk's callout didn't help.

... or will he even make it through this season?

Always high expectations in Calgary, though I'm not sure why.

Jesse Puljiarvi, 20 years old, already looking like (yet) another HUGE Edmonton 1st round bust.

Very embarassing loss. They changed up the roster, but the still getting same shitty result. What a hot mess.

I don't know what others think - I guess there are people that want them gone. I think it's too early for Peters. Treliving - well, he built this team, so he has to be responsible. I think it's way too early yet. See where they are at in another month.

Every team has their bad trades, bad draft picks, bad signings but the Oilers they take the cake in all categories.

Tough break for the Jets. Domination for most of the game and Toronto scores on a couple of bounces and seeing eye pucks in the 3rd to take it 3-2.

Malkin got ejected for that hit and then Oshie came back from the quiet room to score the game-winner. :)
