I'm not the totalitarian idiot forcing people to get along.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Some of the funnier predictions from September:
ESQ wrote: Tue Oct 02, 2018 8:25 am I predict career years from Leipsic, Bo and Sven. Brock will struggle to hit 30 goals, but will still be a bona fide 1st liner.

Loui will have his best season as a a canuck.

Gaudette, Dahlen, and Hughes will all see significant time with the club by year's end.

Petterson will get 50ish points, mostly second assists.

Even with all that rosiness, it's probably not enough to get the canucks to the playoffs. But I will predict that this is the year that fans start noticing how terrible the goaltending is, after 2 years of nobody really paying attention.
Topper wrote: Tue Oct 02, 2018 9:04 am There will be a drinking game played staring Elias.
This one is is so close, its kind of eery... :look:
Madcombinepilot wrote: Wed Oct 03, 2018 7:28 am I predict Peterson takes over the #1 center slot with Boesser on one wing, and Leipsic or Goldobin on the other as the new top line.

Horvat slides rather comfortably into #2 center role
Pretty spot-on.

And funnily enough, none of us predicted they'd make the playoffs this year...at least nobody did prior to the raucous season-opener.

Well in September the Great Strangelove predicted (was forced to predict) playoffs a few times in other threads.

I think there were a few other posters as well...

All due respect doc, as the "3-4 years from now" prediction was light years ahead of its time...

...but as I recall, you clarified that this was season 0-1, which is still a bit of a hedge, IMESHO. I should know, as I was hedging myself in my prediction for this year.

My point was nobody came out and called playoffs this year prior to the season opener.

And oddly enough, I couldn't seem to find any prediction from Blob

Actually yours truly called playoffs this coming Spring a few times good buddy!

(along with how they will perform)

As I was saying, ole Cliffy forced me into nailing it down precisely, here's an example:
Ronning's Ghost wrote: Sat Jun 30, 2018 3:36 pm
Strangelove wrote: Sat Jun 30, 2018 3:24 pm Yes, and Canucks will make the playoffs this season, you can take that to the bank Cliffy!
And look good once they get there, of course.

Thank you for a definite answer. More posters should be so bold.
... and now Esquire, you are forcing me to post it again.

Hey, if Canucks don't make the playoffs this season I will be hammered by Cliffy, Blob, and Co.

... so it's only fair that I receive credit when they do.

When I called playoffs in this thread... after the first game... it was a restatement.

Buddy! You missed all those times Cliffy pushed me into climbing out on that limb? :)

Blob and Co. lack the intestinal fortitude to pick an exact year

... but I believe this past summer they were indicating 3-4 years from now. :D

I already told your little puppet that I predicted in the low 80s for points. Looks like I’m bang on so far

And I predicted 20/21 season for playoffs. Unlike yourself I wasn’t staggering the years and leaving myself an out

I RESPONDED TO THAT WITH THIS:

Blob Mckenzie wrote: Fri Dec 28, 2018 10:02 pm
Blob Mckenzie wrote: Sat Nov 17, 2018 9:56 pm Is that it for being above .500 this season?

The winning and points pctg is firmly in the bottom 3rd of the league. Teams will pass Vancouver as they make up their games in hand. I’ll stick with my original prediction of low 80s for points and it would represent a 7-10 point improvement if they can pull it off.
For ESQ
Yeah, you said that on November 17th when Canucks were .500 after playing the roughest part of their season.

If you like, I can produce a dozen posts in the off-season where you said they'd be bottom 5. :P
And you've never predicted what year Canucks will make the playoffs...
