I agree that the contracts on those guys were all a year too long, but don't compare how they are today with 'how they could look' in 2 years.. that's simply the reverse logic of the mouth breathers at the other site.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 8:32 amThey were more effective than Gaunce, Etem and Vey. I won’t argue that. But Beagle is 35 now and he looked very slow last year. Roussel, probably due to the injury also looked slow. I shudder to think how these guys will look after another 80 + games. Both those contracts were a year or two too long.Madcombinepilot wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 7:08 amHoly flippers blob...Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Fri Jul 03, 2020 11:48 pm I doubt Beagle or Roussel will be targets of Seattle. Both of them barely looked like NHL players this year. They will probably take a younger guy like Juolevi, Lind or maybe MacEwen.
To say they 'barely looked' like NHL players is a bit of a stretch. Lay off the weed and booze. You simple need to remember a couple yeats ago... Gaunce, Etem, Vey, etc.. THEY were barely NHL players!!
I do agree we will lose someone with more skill than one of our 4th line players, but make no mistake, they only guy on thiis team that isn't an NHL player is Loui.

And as to the 'not much luck with enforcers', it's because we can't seem to develop our own young ones, and always overpay for someone's old used one.
MacEwen is the first good grinder we have developed for the bottom pairing in years.
It's ok to have a veteran grinder down there to anchor the bottom pairings, but w have had to pay for 3 or 4 of them for the last 5,6?years and that kills the cap.
Gotta keep those guys on near to entry level contracts.

If they lose the play-in they have a chance at a kid that could basically be a winger version of Nate Mackinnon. He’s a game changer. The Miller trade which is good, has fuck all to do with thisChef Boi RD wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 1:00 pm We got JT Millet for the 1st, who the fuck cares what happens to it. We won!

And “Millet” for Lafreniere is not a win in any way. Wake up Astoria Joe.

We’re not getting Lafrenierre and neither is New Jersey. I wouldn’t trade JT Miller for a maybe chance to draft Lafrenierre, because outside of him the other prospects after the 9th pick are nowhere enough for me to reconsider the tradeDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sat Jul 04, 2020 1:22 pm And “Millet” for Lafreniere is not a win in any way. I say it’s a very strong possibility he passes quite a few. He was ranked in the top 3 for a while. The Russian factor played a lot in to him falling to us thank gawd. It’s also not out of the realm he ends up being one of the best players of his draft class.SKYO wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 6:55 pm I wonder by the end of the 2021/22 season if Podkolzin passes some of the top 10 players in the 2019 draft in value/pts, sans the top 3 (hughes, kakko, dach).
