SJ thinks they were a hair away from the finals, with bad officiating in the third round vs the Blues,
and with a healthy Karsson, can go for it again next year. OK
Today is the start of the big rumors.
Yeah, it might be a good thing that EK is now off the market for us. I was in favour of signing him but Benning may have gone overboard with the AAV. I just hope we don't do something stupid like overpay for Myers (which I think we will) or give Elder a NMC for the expansion draft. Benning fate is going to be decided in the next Month IMO.

Would ya'll get mad if we traded our 1st (#10) in a package for Jacob Trouba? and then re-signed him $7.5 x 8 years.
Depends what the package was. I’d need to be guaranteed he would extend here. I think he’s a proud American though so I find it doubtful he would.
But he’s a pretty good player.
Money/term talks though, see EK re-signing for over $11M per x 8, vs UFA status.

We would need to know that before making the deal
Sometimes you just have to go for gold, like the Sharks traded scraps for EK, showed him the good life in SJ, then re-signed him.
I BET the same could be said for Vancouver, show Trouba the good life here, he and Hughes get us into the playoffs, = 8 year contract re-sign x 8, a UFA contract.

Sharks had a way better team. I’d personally need the extension in place. This team can’t afford to give away assets like that for a one year rental

That's why no one will remember your name, make the trade and try to re-sign him, you lose? you get fired, but you had the balls to go for the best possible outcome.

Sens get another 2nd since EK re-upped.
It would kind of be like us sending Baertschi, Gaudette, Hutton, and the picks... While it would probably be worth it to acquire a franchise player, I'm not sure that should be considered "scraps".
