I am ambivalent about Pouliot but they have a problem with him at 850 K? Yet they have no problem bending over and giving Granlund 1.5 million.
As I said, they were concerned what Pouliot might get in arbitration.
As HW said, they are still negotiating with him.
He may very well end up with a fair amount more than the $840K qualifying amount.
"Swiss army knife" Granlund is worth $1.475M, get over it...

Canucks have decided not to qualify Cole Cassels, Mackenze Stewart, Derek Pouliot. They want Pouliot back but not at the qualifying amount so they are still talking on a one year deal.

If the Canucks qualified Pouliot, would it mean that they cannot walk away from arbitration when the result is less than $3.5m?

I have no idea. As I said I could care less about this player. I just wondered why Granlund got so much rope and 1.5 million for his uninspired butter soft play.

I can see why JB does not want to qualify him. Even $2.5-3m is too much for Pouliot which he might get that from the arbitration.

Seriously, you are complaining about $1.475m for Granlund?

Not complaining about it. Just pointing out that it might be smarter to move him along with the logjam of crappy forwards already here.
