The constant flow of injuries to this team is beyond.
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau

NY Rangers’ Chris Kreider has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Elbowing Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson.

I give full credit to blob for first raising the possibility, but I could see him retiring. Especially after learning where he fits in this summer - I think he's far too proud to go to the farm to collect a paycheque signing bonus.
That's all smoke and mirrors. Up until last night, Loui was tied with Bo for most games played (all of them), and there's no way Loui could finish first in anything this season. (But, I still like MCP's 31 teams comment... :D )

Fines. Players can be fined up to 50% of one day's salary, up to a maximum of $10,000.00 for their first offense, and $15,000.00 for any subsequent offenses. Fines listed in italics indicate that was the maximum allowed fine. Coaches, non-playing personnel, and teams are not restricted to such maximums
I don't see why not.

It would be nice for the team to bring up Zach McEwan for the last dozen games. He’s worked hard and had a pretty good year, why not reward the kid?. Let him like others before him get a real good look at the league as a springboard. Give him more of a taste. Seemed to work ok for Boeser and Gaudette. Hughes is on that plan.

Or treat the paying customers to Schaller, Air Thief, Granlund and Spooner. Same with Demko, give him 4 or 5 games. We know Jacob is a solid goalie. Play the kid a bit.

Yes, he will be a considered a repeat offender the next time.

Kreider is sneaky dirty, like when he accidentally-on-purpose fell on Price in the playoffs 4 years ago, knocking him out of the playoffs.

I'm glad he finally got busted and that the next one will bring a stiffer penalty.

Anyone who has been subject to supplemental discipline is a repeat offender may have past incidents weighed in any future disciplinary actions. The difference for how a repeat offender, with previous infractions within the past 18 months, is treated is how the loss of pay during a suspension is treated.

1st offence - # of games suspended/# of days in a season, note # of days in a season is not less than 184

Subsequent offences within 18 months - # of games suspended/82

I thought his actions were deliberate and deserved more than just a 5 minute penalty. Flailing his arms around is no different than deliberately hitting someone. A talk head on tv said it did not deserve anything more and he referenced another hit that from a Calgary game and there was no suspension.

Just wow, is it difficult to get talking heads with a brain.

You need control of your body just like you need control of your stick, don’t think he deserved 5 games and satisfied with what he got.

Reminded me of Kassian/Gagner, except with an elbow instead of the stick. Kassian got eight games for that one. You'd think 1 or 2 would've been fair in this case.
