Once it became known to management that this would be the end, the focus should have been purely on the future.

I moved on when the news broke on Monday.

There's very little similarity between the sports/entertainment world of today and the 70s Habs. The week's events are examples of the showcase things you do to maintain and draw interest. It strengthens the brand and sells tickets.

Having said that, the Sedins were also 3rd and 4th on the team in points per game and 2 of the 6 players on the team that played more than 70 games. Daniel scored 23 goals and Henrik had over 40 assists. I'm fairly sure those are still acknowledged as significant accomplishments. So, other than by age, how "over the hill" do you feel they are?
