Is this it ? Is noon pacific time today the deadline ?

If so, I guess the wait will be over soon.

Either Blob will be unhappy or Blob will be unhappy :P

It will be a quiet day for the Canucks.

Not much to sell between NMC, boat anchors and injuries.

Agreed. I'm guessing that's the consensus here.

I would absolutely shocked if anyone other than Vanek is traded. With Vanek - I'm guessing it's 50/50 at best. He's not at the top of anyone's list. Obviously the Canucks should really flip him for a pick if they can but doubt there will be many offers. I could see him going for a 4th but doubt Benning deals him for anything less (looking similar to Hamhuis situation).

Aside from the Nash trade, don't think we're going to see any blockbusters... and that's only a blockbuster because Sweeney decided to massively overpay for Nash! Like seriously what was he thinking? I'd say that's fair value for Nash 10 years ago!

Just waiting for the big dogs to be dealt: Kane, McDonagh, Karlsson, MaxPac, maybe Green but he's hurt, once those hard deals are done the plan B/C moves can be dealt like the Vanek's, Maroon's etc. minor depth guys.

For the Canucks even if it's only Vanek dealt, Benning can plant the seeds for trades later on when the playoffs are in full swing with the non-playoff teams, and the draft, plus before & after July 1st.

Like Hutton, Tanev, MDZ, Nilsson.

I'd still like to force Eriksson out or move him for a high priced dman instead of high priced Loui E, & maybe re-sign Vanek July 1st.

Didn't see that one coming.
Bob McKenzie

VGK and VAN working to finalize a trade.

Forward Brendan Leipsic sounds like he’s heading to VAN.

Potential return would be defenseman Philip Holm.

???

If true, this one's a head-scratcher, other than Benning admitting that Holm isn't going to get the sniff he was promised on the big club and trying to do the guy a solid by sending hm somewhere he may have a chance. If that's the case, why not just get a 5th/6th rounder? this is just a prospect dump. Nothing about Leipsic leads me to believe he's an answer to anything on Vancouver's roster in the short or long term.

Hope the guy likes upstate New York.
Love the Sport. Love the Team.

Hate the League.

AHL trade deadline deal
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Well now we know why he played in the Vegas game. Head scratcher cause Vegas has a D surplus. Head scratcher cause how does this help the Canucks. Oh well, Benning proves he can make a deal.

Oh wait, this from Dan Murphy:

Darren Archibald just told me the Comets spent a lot of time chasing Leipsic with the puck. Called him a very skilled player.
************

Leipsic makes $650,000 a year and is on the first year of a three year deal. Seems to be a deal to add to Utica's depth.

Oh wait there's more:

Leipsic is also the Leaf Vegas selected in the expansion draft. He plays with speed and has an edge to his game. Green knows this former Winterhawk to boot.

Green also said Leipsic is one of the best players he has seen in the AHL but he has not been able to translate that yet into the NHL. Looks forward to getting him in the organization and working with him.

Maybe he's just this years reclamation project to replace players like Bouchard/Goldobin.

Leipsic played for Travis Green in Portland as well.
