And the Canucks will be last in the league.
Not that I have ever been on team tank. Now it is just my nemesis, reality, show his ugly head.
But even I find it hard to see the Canucks winning many more games this season with their current line-up.
Calling it 4-3 Buffalo in OT.
4-3 buffalo OT go go go

Man it's gonna be a deja vu of Buffalo/Canucks inception.

Hopefully this time we get the no.1 overall...
YES! I'm with ya :D
Buffalo loses in regulation. Canucks are going to be hard pressed to out suck the Sabres.
Buffalo has a cake schedule coming up. Yes they suck as much as we do, but should be able to get a few points. Arizona’s is pretty difficult. Ours is in the middle. Will be an interesting last 8-9 games to see who can suck the most.

Smith gets yanked for 2nd game in a row in Calgary after giving up 3 goals on 11 shots

... Flames go on to lose 4-0.

I wonder how things are at Cowpuke tonight. :D

Smith was their hero until he began sucking Godzilla round about the end of January.

They want everyone fired, Burke, Treliving, Gully.

They want most vets bought out, traded or waived.

They are realizing they may finish only a few points up on the Oilers, wosre yet they farther they fall the potential is there for a higher draft pick for the NYI.

Oh well.....

On other news, Arizona beat Buffalo 4-1. Arizona creating distance between themselves and us, this is good. Buffalo remains one point behind us but the odds are increasing in our favour schedule wise. Something to cheer for, but, but, but. NJD won the draft lottery with only an 8.5% chance, just saying.

Buffalo and Vancouver meet again, only this time it's a defencemen - Dahlin instead of a forward - Perrault. Why not just hand it to Buffalo now and drop us back 3 spots from where we finish. Pointless

Yup. I say we pick 5th again.

After the 3rd year in a row of sliding down the draft, perhaps people will understand that tanking for a couple percentage points in a lottery doesn't work.

The problem is that the team is not purposely tanking.

They are this bad and with that salary hit.

That’s what he doesn’t understand. Furthermore if they do finish last they can pick no lower than 4th

Which is supposed to give you a better chance of getting a higher rated player. Of course anything can happen but still always prefer a higher pick.

The same way that passing the puck to a teammate in a better shooting position for slightly higher scoring percentage doesn't work ?

I think most that are in favor of "tanking" (whether that is coaching, managing, playing or cheering for the team to lose) would simply rather have a guaranteed higher draft pick. The increased percentage of winning the lotto (if you aren't suspicious or superstitious) is just a bonus.

Most of the season Canucks have been icing a team that is ~ $20M under the cap if you add the salaries of players actually playing.

(injury factor again)

Also, riding out the Sedins $14M-per contracts is going to to bring you closer to "that salary hit" than you would otherwise be.

29 teams within $8M of the the $75M cap this season...

Apparently the odds will better for the tank teams with Vegas out of the picture now or should I say back to normal the way it was at the 2016 draft with the odds for the worst team being a bit over 20% instead of 18% like it was in 2017

Yeah I look at the lotto as the best/worst case scenario - finish dead last in the league and the worse that can happen is the 4th overall pick. Staying in the top 4 is key with this crop. I consider winning the lottery - a miracle or pure luck.
