Well, kind of. His latest injuries yes!

He's had groin issues since 2008/09 where he missed a good chunk of games.

My theory was founded on the fact that they'll eventually catch up with him and he won't be able to recover and play goal anymore. Nothing shady really, just hoping for some groin strains and hip issues that a lot of older tenders experience!

Still allows him a fully functioning retirement, just no cap recapture BS!

Aaron, I just read our old conversation in it's entirety, you were arguing for shadiness.

(I'll find the link)

Yes he had some issues in 2008/09 (you didn't mention them in our conversation).

Our conversation was in early 2016 (just before he began to have major hip/groin problems).

But hey, we're both cheering for perma-LTIR now, and it seems more and more likely. :santa:

Yes, I read it as well.

Also mentioned my tongue in cheekiness about the whole situation.

ADD - really, whatever it takes to get out from under the stupid CBA change fuck-over the Canucks rule!

Maybe, although it's looking more like "cheeky seemingly predictor of inevitabilitiness"

I feel like I'm watching Monty Python's Life Boat scene.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

I don't know what you guys are on about but did Doc just point to me being correct in what was a great point of discussion between he and I in the CC archives?

:mex:

In this great moment of history I'd like to thank all the CC's I've been a part of! Definitely couldn't have done it without the Canucks and their quest for the holy grail <-- see wot ;). I'd like to thank my parents for getting us our first computer and internet access which enabled me to sign up. Have to thank the crazy dude over at the other CC for going nuts and forcing this great moment to happen at the Corner. Really, I just have to thank all of you. The posters and lurkers of this here goddamn hockey talk message board! Here's to another decade or so before this is likely to happen again! :drink:

Okay Aaron you little tongue-in-cheek promoter of shadiness! :santa:

Can't believe I missed that tongue in that cheek...

But hey, it spurred me on to create an awesome theory so it's all good!

Also, you divided Myrtle's recap #s by the # of years - you should have multiplied it.

(eg the 2018 number is ~$1.45M each year for 4 years = ~$5.8 total)

But anyway, the perma-LTIR option is looking more and more likely as time marches on...
That's what wasn't clear to me, because Mirtle is the only source I've found that calculated the cap recapture.

But thank you for the clarification!

Sam Bennett. Stalwart according to Bubbles
“Tyler Myers is my guy... I was taking to Scotty Bowman last night and he was bringing up his name, and saying he’s a big guy and big guy need big minutes to play, he is playing great for ya… and I agree with him… He’s been exceptional” - Bruce Boudreau
