Just missed on Zadina, then went for an LSD trip (Left Smurf D).
WTF.
Here's hoping Benning & Co know lots about Hughes commitment (college/NHL), sturdiness, & the direction of NHL officiating (will crushing checks on small guys be called). A risky move this is.

NYI just got 2 gifts. Wahlstrom, now Dobson.
JT has got to re-sign now.
I'm hoping that the Isles are pushing hard at the trade deadline and need a top D-man to take them over the top. I'm hoping it's Tanev or Edler for one of Wahlstrom or Dobson and a pick.

Well we’ve never had an elite pp qb in Vancouver. If he becomes that it’s a great pick.
We have enough small skill. Benning needs to bring the beef in the rest of the draft.

Kinda where I'm at. Would've preferred Dobson/RHD I think, but the skill is definitely there and he didn't jump off the board.

I’m starting to wonder how much rope the owners on AZ are giving to Chayka to hang himself with....
Dallas and Philly also both taking names I don’t remember ever reading about.

So does Hughes go back to college, he feels he’s NHL ready, or does he sign and play in Utica?

Send him back. Bigger, stronger, more mature years under contract.

How I think of what Hughes will be like is having Johnny Gaudreau on defence, you need high skilled play makers in this game. The Canucks don’t have a ton of that on the team. His IQ will be a perfect match for Pettersson. Love the pick

Some feel that Hughes can play in the NHL next season. Word is they are not overly concerned about academics and want to be in the NHL sooner than later. Quinton did play in the recent worlds. He’s smart enough on the ice to survive

Islanders clean up
Two players I’d have no problem with Vancouver taking.
Barzal
Beauvillier
Bellows
Wahlstrom
Dobson
Sororkin
Soderstrom
Pulock
Ho Sang
Nice looking future
