Mike Gillis is an idiot?
Funny ,I don't remember you bashing the Sundin signing or his play back in the day.

I like the trade yes but unlike the urine crew I recognize that a major, major asset was sacrificed to get him. I choose not to ignore the fact that he did not come free and that Shrunk who came free was our true 1st pick of the 2013 draft
So by this rationale Gadjovich, Brisebois , Gaudette and Mckenzie are not "true" Canucks draft picks because assets were sacrificed to obtain these picks.
We won those trades by a country mile, Bubble Bath. Gaudette, Gadjovich, Brisebios? Are you kidding me? 5th, 2nd, 3rd round gems? More Geniusness from JimBro Benning. He can turn water into wine. Just what til Treenapkin comes back.

But they aren't "true" picks by Vancouver

Gillis first offer was 2 years $20 million. Umbelievable. It was like he was a mole in the GM inside for his Players Agent fraternity

Sundin turned down the 2 year $20 million contract, only wanted a 1 year contract

Sundin saved Gillis the embarrassment

Why r u trippin balls about this? Teams on the cusp bring in vets for cup runs..always have always will.
He didn't cost assets only cash from stinkin rich people.

We had a top team and added a fading superstar. Get over it man.
If you're gonna thump away on old news go back to the ballard trade. That one was waaaay worse

Well, if we're going thump away at old, bad trades in the 2017 development camp thread, we need to re-hash the Neely trade! :P

OK: The Canucks, at the time, were still reeling about what happened to Derlago's career after Potvan took out his knee. They had absolutely no confidence that Neely would ever be right after he suffered the big double tear.
So as soon as they could, they moved him.
He was devastated.
The new tendon replacement surgeery was still very new and guess what?
Cam went on to be one of the best Bruins in team history.
Believe he's still there.

A very sad mistake, and I mean A-Missed-Take, in Canucks history.
In retrospect, there is really no one to blame, not really.

This thread is like your airline luggage.
Given enough time, it will probably end up where it's supposed to be.
That was fun.

He won't even debate the current GM just goes back to the bad moves of a GM who hasn't been here in 4 years.

Hey if Mats was like a 36 year old Ryan Miller who looks like he could play to Jagrs age like, then yeah...I guess. But everyone in gods green acre knew that Mats was done like dinner and badly in need of full on knee replacement. $20 million for two years? Something shady going on like Mike was in on the pie. Wasn't Mats a client of Agent Gillis? Reminds me of that St. Louis Blue/New Jersey Devil who went to jail, for attempt to assassinate someone, wasnt Gillis in cahoots with the guy this player wanted to assassinate. Pure shady, that Gillis

He came in and inspired. He was a legend for Swedes and had a hand in vaulting the twins into art ross trophy seasons right after. He cost nothing and stirred up the fans in vancouver. It was a pivotal time for the team and without let down 2 years later they almost won it all.

If they had won one last game you'd have nothing to be pissed about today and might have joined yer old lady on the bong out back.

No need to be mad man. Just roll up a chonger and have baked sex with the mrs...its soooo much easier
