Sorry but you started saying that well over a year ago. It's down to 9-18 months now.

That's rich, coming from the recently converted "rebuilder". Or are we knee-jerking back to "playoffs baby!" after this result?

As has been said many times: rebuilding is not just getting a 1st overall pick, it's getting lots of picks, regardless of position, and stockpiling young assets.

Rebuilding =/= tanking.

Which four will go first?

Who makes sense now? Rasmussen? Mittelstadt? Makar?

Very disappointed we didn't get 1st or 2nd.

I think next year the Canucks will be better and they'll do worse in the draft.

Time for some trades.

What does next year's draft look like? Maybe even with a lower chance we can luck out?

We have to be bad to keep the top 5 picks rolling plus trading Vets for youth.

We gonna get it done! Woohoo!! CUP IN 2021!!

Apparently 2018 features better blueline prospects and an overall stronger 1st round - which means the Canucks will pick 15th with no hopes of drafting any kind of impact player.

You never know. Who could have guessed the Canucks would pick where they did they past two seasons? Maybe we can get a good pick next year despite our odds? Pigs will fly eventually right?

However, if Makar is anything like Erik Karlsson (as Button suggests) we could have our impact player already. I think we're going to wind up with a very good player THIS year despite being 5th.

Anyone with half a brain?

It's a terrible team , not sure why you are so shocked with their draft position the last two seasons. Or maybe you thought winning four in a row with out ever leading the games was sustainable.

We could use any of Makar, Glass, Mittlestat, Villardi or Heiskanen.

How about the Flyers? 7 points out of the playoffs and had a 2.5% chance to draft 2nd overall. Could have 12 picks in the draft, including 2nd overall...
