Sounds like the Canucks and Boeser are getting closer to a finalized contract.
Rick Dhaliwal:

The #Canucks and Brock Boeser are getting closer to a new contract but still work to be done and neither side budging.

Deal is there to be made, get this thing done

The longer Jimmy takes in re-signing Brock, the more team friendly the contract is likely to be.

Six days until Boeser plays in Da Beauty League, think he'll do it without insurance when he turned down the WC for that same reason? Nuh uh.

With all the young guys signing five year deals, is the the way Boeser wants to go? He is a good old by from Minny and has his family and his posse there. If he will only take the five is he a guy you look to move in the next couple years? I’m a fan of the kid but if the deal is five years it puts him to UFA at conclusion. Maybe a bridge is better but then you have that contract bumping up against Petey and Hughes

No Micky, your quite likely right and may I suggest to you that a new contract for Brock will likely be announced
this coming Monday or Tuesday which would make perfect sense cause if I'm not mistaken, I believe Mr Boeser wants
to get on with some of Da Beauty tee full summer activities he loves.
Dont reply, it's almost lunch time.

Ya, guess that might depict a problem, mm?

Wonder how many posters are talking, laughing, swearing, among other things when they're posting or replying to one?

The fact that Florida may have lost out on Panarin because of this is a small comfort.

Boeser confident new deal will be done.
Restricted free-agent forward Brock Boeser isn't worried about securing a new contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

"I feel confident we're going to get the deal done and everything's going to work out," Boeser said, according to Jessi Pierce of NHL.com. "I love Vancouver. The organization, the city, the fans, everything's great there, and I want to be there for a long time."

"He's a core player and a building block for our group," general manager Jim Benning said. "We have a plan in place and we're going to continue to talk with Brock and his agent and get that figured out.

"If we can move players, it makes it easier, but if we can't move players we still have a plan in place to be (cap) compliant. One option is to go into (long-term injury reserve) with (Antoine) Roussel because with his injury he is probably not going to be back until November, December."

I figure they go 4 years - smidgen lower cap, think Timo Meier's contract.

still will be a RFA, then they can go for the mega contract - 8 years after that, lifelong Canuck.

From Brock;
"I love Vancouver. The organization, the city, the fans, everything's great there, and I want to be there for a long time."
What sticks out about this line? LOL

I was going to say something 3 days ago. Pretty sure Brock wants 7 or 8 yrs.

Five years seems to be that sweet spot these days.
