Re: Canucks Contracts
There are no top pairing RH D men out there on the UFA market other than Alex Pietrangelo. At this point in their careers Tanev and Edler are probably # 4 guys. Kinda like Tyler Myers. Problem is we don’t have a legit 2/3 guy to drop in between Quinn Hughes and Edler/Tanev/Myers. The latter three need to be carried by better partners and we don’t have that here.

Re: Canucks Contracts
This is the top dead center core of Vancouvers issues. Napkin isnt going to miraculously fill that role either Chef....before you start barking up that treeDoyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 6:44 pm There are no top pairing RH D men out there on the UFA market other than Alex Pietrangelo. Myers doesn’t need to be carried, he just can’t carry a pairing himself, edler does a lot of heavy lifting for stetcher. Your right though all 3 are 2nd pairing guys though. I think what may happen this offseason is boeser or virtanen May he used to upgrade the right side d. I also think barry could be a target, now if barry turns back into the barry from Colorado that’s good, if it’s the Toronto version not so much. I also am not a fan of keeping the wingers high in the dzone, it really isolates the dmen.Doyle Hargraves wrote: ↑Sun Mar 08, 2020 6:44 pm There are no top pairing RH D men out there on the UFA market other than Alex Pietrangelo. Yeah I think one of Jake or Brock will be dealt if plan on hanging on to Toffoli. Agree about the lack of defensive back pressure from the wingers.Richardstroker69 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 8:25 amMyers doesn’t need to be carried, he just can’t carry a pairing himself, edler does a lot of heavy lifting for stetcher. Not sure I’d target Barrie. He’s a poor defender and he’d need PP 1 time and he won’t get that here. There are players out there that would be a massive upgrade on the RH side over Tanev or Stecher. I like Tanev but you can’t blow your brains out signing him. He is already in a slow decline.

Re: Canucks Contracts
Trade Horvat for a D-man and make Pettersson and Miller your top 2 centres

Tempting,Gaudette could even replace him if he improves more.Chef Boi RD wrote: ↑Mon Mar 09, 2020 8:47 am Trade Horvat for a D-man and make Pettersson and Miller your top 2 centres

Re: Canucks Contracts
Green is trying to turn Horvat into Travis Green. He isn't that, but he is a very good center. No way I trade him. There are so many options that Green doesn't experiment with. They can put Hovat on the first line between Pettersson and Tofolli. They and put Miller on a second line with Gaudette and Jake. There are a number of combinations that aren't tried because of Green's fixation with a shut down line. They have Sutter or Beagle for that. Why make Bo focus on a role he is not the best at. He is much better at pushing offence than sitting back and trapping the other team while the air thief sucks the passion for the game and life right out of him.

Re: Canucks Contracts
They wont trade Bo, CP. His number look terrible this year on paper but we know there's more to it than that. Like you say, Green doesn't
use him in a situation where he can succeed. Too much PK time and an over use of sending him out just to take face-offs. Just "that", has
altered the way he, not only plays, but the way he sees himself. That is on Green.
Now it can be argued that Tanner Pearson is totally having a career year but then why is his plus/minus so much better then Horvat's.?
Boeser can play with Horvat and Pearson as soon as he's back. Green shouldn't put Brock right back with Petrtersson just because they're friends.
I remember a time when Horvat and Boeser looked great.

Re: Canucks Contracts
Bo has averaged just 25 seconds per game on the PK (3:44 0n the PP).
