Tim and Mike yes, you have a good deal of baseball knowledge for a guy that doesn't like baseball..
For some reason, I've always had room in my hard drive to store useless trivia, pop culture and whatnot.

I hate watching baseball (except when the Jays are contending), but I can digest a whole lot of baseball highlights from the sports channels. Probably because I loved Sports Page and watched it religiously growing up.

What? Are you local celebrity name dropping, Donny?

Who was your Sports Page anchor buddy?

Is.

Houlihan...first met him when he coached me in football as a teen. That would have been a few years after he played for the Lions.

Met up with him again a decade or so ago, he did not remember me of course...

...I just texted him and told him I was accused of celeb name dropping using his tag.

He is quite amused.

Ah, Barry Houlihan.

The name sounds familiar but I can't put a face to it. Different generation.

I didn't start following the Lions until the Roy Dewalt/Swervin' Mervyn/Lui Passaglia days in the mid-80s. I watched the Page in their 90s hey days with the Carson, Taylor, McDonald, Shorthouse, Randorf, McCormick, etc. crew.

Tell Mr. Houlihan I sincerely apologize for calling him a celebrity.

Barry Houlihan got a free ride with the US Navy Blue Angels flight team in 1988 at press day (Friday) at the Abbotsford Air Show. I'd been talking to him
about general bullshit while he was waiting. I was waiting for my ride back to the non flight area as it was close to 5pm. They called him "You're up!
He asked me if I could take pictures of his getting on the jet and taking off and send him the pictures to BCTV. I did, but I waited the 15 minutes and took a couple of him landing and getting helped off the jet, puke all over himself  He said laughingly, "You fucking bastard!" I said, Nice ride, eh.

I can envision a young Blob & Dude McKenzie down by Pigeon Park on Skid Row (Abbott & Hastings St) back in the day, sharing a couple of snub nose bottles of O'Keefe's Extra Old Stock and telling all the hosers to take off, eh.

Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

Why isn't Matt Barzal's contract (7mil / 3yrs / exp-RFA) a measuring stick for Pettersson? Seems generous enough to me.
