Take a look around the league Mickey.

Had a prominent RFA besides Sebastian Aho signed yet? And he was offer sheeted. Take a Chillax pill Amigo. Hargraves is concerned Mickeys heart will explode.

The Goldobin signing is perfect. Does a lot of things. Depth at forward / Be the best you can be or you aint gonna be an NHLer / Cheap /
One more year to really see if he can be a responsible player, while contributing on any line / Even a great first half and possible trade..

The Canadian Press
SEPTEMBER 4, 2019 10:25 AM

VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks have re-signed right winger Nikolay Goldobin to a one-year contract.

The team announced the deal on Wednesday, saying the restricted free agent had agreed to a one-way deal worth US$900,000

Goldobin put up seven goals and 20 assists in 63 games for the Canucks last season, his third in Vancouver.

He was also a healthy scratch or several games as coach Travis Green challenged him to work on various aspects of his play.

Canucks general manager Jim Benning said in a statement on Wednesday that Goldobin has "taken steps to round out his game."
"Nikolay is a gifted offensive player who has shown good chemistry with some of our other younger players," Benning said. "We're excited to see continued improvement from him this season."

The 23-year-old native of Moscow was originally taken 27th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2014 NHL entry draft.

The Vancouver Canucks are set to begin training camp in Victoria on Sept. 13.

Boeser is a significantly more valuable asset but it does more or less set the bar.

IMO Boeser at 8x8 would be fair for both sides as long as camp brockett doesnt go fishing for dumbass money

Goldobin gets a one way. So he’s set to earn $900,000 no matter what. If we waive him, no cap residue and since it’s a one way it may make him to be less likely to be plucked on waivers.
The only HW the Canucks need

If Boeser's camp wants $7M x 4, they're gonna want at least $9M x 8 imo (that's a few UFA years there)

Would be awesome to get Brock at 8x8 with the way contracts for young stars are going.

But I'd be happy with $7M x 4 at this point....

I think we’ll see a 7x4 contract, I’m guessing their fighting over how to structure it, brock wanting the qualifying offer to be like timo Meier and Jim wanting a lower qo.

@harmandayal2
With Goldobin signing ($900K), assuming Eriksson and Schaller get buried in the minors, the #Canucks are projected to be left with $7.13M left to sign Brock Boeser.

Looking over that roster i have to think Baerchi probably gets moved. Theres no room for him and his deal isnt prohibitive.

No Biega? Travis likes to roll with 8 D but even if he went with 7, I think Fantenberg would be the guy turfed to Utica.

I agree. Biega is a rare type of player that can sit and sit but play pretty well, for a spell, them return to the press bin and not bitch
about nothin, just happy to be in the NHL. Tries his ass off and doesn't look too out of place.
