Agree with most of your write except I don’t think for any reason within the next 2 season will anyone take LE.
I am thinking that even with his contract, if then next expansion draft rules are the same as the last, he will still be the best player exposed by us. Probably by far. We will be looking to pick up a couple scrubs to meet the minimum exposure requirements.
What expansion draft?

Seattle isn't anywhere near close. They hope to have Key Arena renovated by 2020, which means the earliest Seattle could be viable would be the 2020/21 season. Although that lines up well with Loui's contract as that's when his modified NTC kicks in. Right now he has a NMC so he isn't going anywhere until 2020 for sure.

Loui will be the Great Wizard in the Emerald City.
Over the Internet, you can pretend to be anyone or anything.

I'm amazed that so many people choose to be complete twats.

We can't lose this guy, his numbers are Pettersen insane. He's gone on record as saying he wants to be a Canuck next season but this is the danger of
drafting college kids. Northeastern is ranked 10th so we have that on our side. It's still 50/50 on what he does
Yes!!!! It's nerve racking isn't it.
Gaudette & Petersson made a mockery of that summer young gun thing. Gaudette gave Elias a little love tap at the end.
Adam is seeing Brock and Troy playing with more young talent on the way and I'm hoping he'll want to be a part of it.
Like a lot of college FA, he no doubt is looking for an opportunity on the big squad. They're entering the organization in their early twenties, not their late teens so I don't see them going somewhere they will have to toil in the minors for a couple of years before they get a sniff. Hopefully Stetcher and Boeser get a chance to reach out to him if he's on the fence. I think what happens at the TDD may alter his appreciation of his chances of getting on the big squad. Unless the team turns it around and gets close to the playoffs, I can see Gaudette following in Boeser's footsteps and playing some games in the garbage time of the season this Spring. Give him a taste, give him some things to work on over the summer and se what he does next Fall.

Dunno if a future expansion draft is going to look like the last one. I think the only people liking it these days are in Vegas and the league offices. I can't imagine Western Conference organizations being too crazy about the squad McPhee was able to assemble. Everybody seemed on board with a draft process that made Vegas more competitive than previous expansion teams, but no doubt many are reconsidering. We'll see if league expansion throws management a bone.

And you'll want to send Stetcher off to join the Munchins?

This is just another reason I think we are ready to cut some ties at the end of this year.
Word of caution on Adam Gaudette. In his last interview he stated he weighed 182 lb and has problems putting on weight. For those of you who will say it's OK because of Juolevi being 182 when drafted and Pettersen at 165 at the 2017 draft just remember they were 18 years old at the time and Gaudette was 21 years old being interviewed last fall. Juolevi has since built up to 198 lb. If Gaudette is to play a scrappy, poor man Ryan Kesler type game then take a look at Cole Cassels, who had a very good career in junior but has struggled with his game and injuries as a pro. Cassels weighs 184 lb and will be 23 years old in May.

Cassels can’t skate though. I think size is the least of his problems

You look at a player like Mike Peca, he was roughly two inches shorter and a couple pounds lighter (source Hockey DB) and look at the type of game he played. If the kid is fast enough and skilled enough (takes more than size to play physical IMO) he can play his style of game without having to be 200 lbs.

Agree with most of your write except I don’t think for any reason within the next 2 season will anyone take LE. I am assuming based upon Strange that his last 2 seasons his actual pay goes down but it will allow a bottom feeder to reach the minimum cap.
What would you be willing to trade to an expansion team to take LE's contract in a draft?

I doubt a pick will do it, possibly a Goldobin/Hutton/Dahlen-level young player.

After this year he doesn't have an NMC, so I think we can count on keeping him until end of 2019 (earliest possible date for an expansion draft), then seeing some wheeling-dealing to get rid of him in the expansion. But unless he breaks out of his funk, they'll be paying a heavy price to get rid of that contract. Such a heavy price it may be worth re-considering...

All depends on when the deal is done, the later the less we have to pay but it may cost a 2nd or 3rd. Of course it really depends on how well he is playing.

Sedins retire would be the breathe of fresh air this franchise needs.

Moving Edler would be sufficient in that regard.

He’s the stalest piece of the old pie.

Hank and Dank back on 1 year deals at $4M or less would be fine for this team. They are on pace for 58 and 54 points respectively, most teams are paying $12M for 112 points these days, and their production has stepped up since Bo went down, so their points are again coming against the toughest competition.

It would require parting ways with Edler and one other vet to keep the transition going.

Who do you replace them with (or fill their spots with)?
