Um, just wondering if we should try this again, see if it changes a bit?

So many dire predictions, (30th), from the outfits that do this kind of thing as part of their repertoire.
Starting to wonder if it's just a mater of follow the leader or are we wearing rose colored glasses and don't know it.

I think we are better than last year and if a couple things happen.. health kick up a gear.. a trade or 2 I think our rose coloured glasses may be true.

it all depends on the injuries.. to who, and for how long. we have the skill to compete every night, and enough youth to provide the energy and drive to compete.. but who is going to get hurt??

That's the deciding factor.

Add Gudbranson Subtract Bartkowski
Add Skille Subtract Higgins
Add Gaunce Subtract Vey
Add Ericsson Subtract Vrbata
Add Stecher (later) Subtract Weber

They have found a miracle cure for locker room cancer. The body is healed and strong. Asshole factor increased 27.8%. This team will finally win the cup, shocking the hockey world. Book it!

Like most people are saying "it depends on the injuries". Being a Canucks fan, I realize that injuries will happen and they will hurt the team enough to keep them out of the playoffs. I won't be surprised if there are enough to keep us out of the running for a wild card spot as early as last year.

It will still be another fun year of watching the develop into a new core. The Sedins will have new life. But it won't be enough.

I voted dead last. I don't think we'll be 62-65 point bad, but we'll be bad.

You've got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky ?

Well, do ya ?

I see a lottery ticket in our future.
Less Canucks embarrassment please.

The entire team could get injured and we still wouldn't win the draft lotto, might as well win and go for playoffs, more fun that way.

ffs quit thinking with a loser mentality.......and please don't say: I'm not being pessimistic, I'm realistic.

Team improves, I think next season with a blockbuster deal we can try to win it all for the Sedins last hurrah in 2017/18 or they sign cheap 2018/19.

I feel better about this team compared to last, especially with our defense restructured.

Went from

edler tanev
hamhuis hutton
sbisa bartkowski
weber biega

to

edler tanev
hutton gudbranson
sbisa larsen/stecher/tryamkin
biega

Biggest change is getting rid of the oft injured, smaller in stature Hamhuis to Gudbranson.
And we finally got the proper left to right ratio of dmen, plus finally got some QB right side guys (lars/stech) to help out Edler and Hutton.

These changes seem under the radar but once they get some chemistry going it should be a formidable top 6, especially when they get Stecher back.
Can the Canucks just win a Cup within the next 5 years.

Let's just be honest.....we really don't have the pieces for a blockbuster deal that doesn't sell our newly built farm.

We do have the pieces it's just if it's worth it and no we don't have sell the entire farm, but some trades come out of nowhere and are rare but do happen, like Joe Thornton for 3 mediocre pieces, Jeff Carter was acquired for Johnson and a 1st.

Shanahan was got for Primeau, 100 year old Coffey and a 1st.

We built up our players and keep in contact with all the GM's, be on their good side and maybe they make a call to say yo, we got a deal bruh, down for a blockbuster or what son. 8-)

We have improved defensively bigtime but not much for scoring ..
Better at center going in but still short a #1
Sedins age is showing but Ericson maybe give them a lift..
I like the depth at D this year and goaltending is good ..
Hansen will get his 20 goals Sutter with 20 + hoping the kids will have breakout years

Realistically this year will be fun to watch.. We have a bit more depth than last year and some improvements
but I don't think we will make the playoffs.. close .. but no cigar .
